Inside one of my live rocks there is a beige colored clam-like thing that has small tentacles an looks like a venus flytrap. Not sure what it's since i can't get a picture of it. Anyone have an idea what this could be??

Sounds like a scallop

are they harmless, and is this normal for a live rock, My tank is almost 3 weeks into cycle its wedge deep inside a hole??

When i was looking for my hermit I pulled out a flashlight an noticed this thing.

Encrusting clams have those "flytrap" hairs. Are they hairy looking or fleshy looking? Either way, scallop or encrusting clam. Both are fine to have. Google image the two and decide which you have since you aren't able to get a picture.
