I built a screen lid for my nano. I do not have a sump. Because it's rimless I do not have a lip to set the screen in. And I have a hob filter. Any ideas on how to get this screen up? Thank you!

I just made mine big enough for it to sit on the lip of the tank. It isn't all that attractive, but it works. I think someone makes little plastic clips that hook on the side of the tank wall to hold the screen on the inside of the tank so it is recessed and sits below/even with the rim.

I have never bought anything from this website before, but I found the clips here

These could work maybe?

Really appreciate you linking those. Now I just have to figure out how to use my filter too. I tried cutting the frame so that the filter could stay in place but it totally ruins the integrity of the frame and bends inwards. Le sigh :/

Ya... that is a hard obstacle. I see most people making a little square cut out with the frame to accommodate it, but it is a lot more work.

When I had a cover on my cube (which was egg crate, but that doesn't matter), I cut the top to fit inside the tank, then used some small squares of plexiglass (TAP plastics has 1" squares precut) glued to each corner.

+1

For a few more bucks you could buy 4 more elbows and a bit more track and make a cutout that is supported with frame around your HOB. a bit more work, but not all that hard. If you don't cut the screen close to the HOB it defeats the purpose. My Yasha jumped out of a 1/8-1/4 inch gap in my glass lid... you would shit if you saw how small a hole these guys can get out of :(

Go to home depot and get a screen door kit. It is very easy to cut and piece together. And you could always raise that light up a few inches.
