This will be a SPS dominant with Acans, micromusas and chalices. Maybe a zoa or two but I am not a huge fan of them.

Well, I don't like your last sentence. J/k. Rimless, black silicone and some sweet rock work. This should be a real beast.

Care to further elaborate on Emaco? Looks good. You get it custom built? And yeah I'm back. omgomgomg

I bought it off someone local. It has been passed around the club a couple times but it is in great condition. Black silicone, beveled edges and low iron glass.

It is a 2 part mix. 1 part grey powder and the other a white liquid. You mix the two together to get a slurry which you place between two rocks. It then hardens to basically concrete so you can create these overhangs that would be impossible with just stacking rocks.

The structure on the far left you can see the gray spots which is the emaco. It looks grey for a little while but eventually gets covered or loses its color so its not noticeable. The structure on left is 2 large pieces, the one on the right is one piece and the middle one I still need to finish making. it makes it really easy to move the rocks around since you don't have to worry about stacking rocks or using the putty.

EDIT: Damn, he beat me to it :P

I was looking at the nichia on LEDGB and comparing them to the es 4K. I am going to take the plunge and go with the nichias.

The new light for the 70 will have

28 XTE RB

14 XPE CB

14 HV

7 TV (420)

7 OCW

14 Nichia NW (4500)

All using 80 degree lenses since my 60's I have on there are too tight.

I want to wire the drivers into the coralux boards, use some nice sheathing, Dsub connectors and project boxes to hide away everything and make it easier to do maintenance/access.

I'd still push you towards the Bridgelux Vero 10, but that's just me :P

I've been looking at Molex connectors to do a quick-disconnect system. I need a crapload of them, though lol. that and the pins, a crimper, sheath, heatshrink (way more than I have right now), so it's a big undertaking that I'm not sure if I'm ready for lol

No.. lol they looked so much bigger in the pictures online. They will definitely fit then.

Where did you get those?

Never mind I found some. It looks like I could almost go 1 vero for every 8 RB and just don't use optics so it spreads out nicely.

Finally getting the rock wet

The rock connecting the right and middle structure will not be there, instead it will be at the base of the left structure.

Loving the scape

I will basically be doing SPS, acans and some chalices. Zoas and other LPS will be going in a 8G nano

Looking forward to seeing the tank with coral! When are you gonna get it wet?

Probably by the end of june. I want the rock to be well cycled, I plan on feeding it as though theres fish in it for at least 2 weeks after the cycle. Then get the rock in the tank, run GFO and skim it to get the nutrients down.

Lol I used almost 8 pounds of it. I had a ton of overhangs that I don't want to break once they're in the tank

Tank won't be going up for a few months still, holding out on the riptide, slowly buying my LED's and the stand is coming along nicely.

The tank will have 5" on the left and right side and 6" in the front.

I need to Kilz the interior, paint the exterior/interior white, finish the trim on the doors, stain and seal the doors and top.

As far as my light goes I am set on 4 clusters of this

2 Luxeon M RB (1 will have 60 degree reflector)

1 Vero 10

Everything below will have 90 degree reflectors

4 Rebel CB

2 Rebel Cyan

2 Rebel deep red

2 Rebel lime

4 Hyper Violet

I am using 1 cluster of this over a 20L and I am loving it. It has brought out colors I didn't even know my acans had.

Here is a spectragraph of what the build more or less looks like (the program didnt have the data for vero 10, lime or LGB HV so they were substituted with Rebel NW and a 410-420 HV with similar lm and lime I used a combo of green and PC amber since lime has such a wide spectrum it covers both those basically)

Spectragraph of the Full spectrum build that is on Nano Reef (Cree RB, NW. LGB OCW and HV)

So, what is the hue of the tank like? More magenta/ purpleish?

When all the colors are up and running it looks a lot like a halide to me, anywhere from a phoenix to radium depending on how much white it is at. Compared to my full spectrum light on my 40 there is zero purple hue.

If I try to take pictures with my phone on my 40 I end up getting a purple picture, but not with this light (only when the whites are off then it can come out an odd color)
