slooye
Okay so i have a 6 gallon aquarium and want to add a refugium. Would it make sense to make a 2.5 standard glass aquarium into a sump. And if so what would i do to make the water go into the tank? I dont wanna waste $40 bucks on a overflow box. thanks! Link to comment
frankdontsurf
Build your own overflow? all you need is to drill two holes in your display tank. A couple of bulk heads and hose and you're in business. You don't need a sump in a 6 gallon. If I was to sump a 6 gallon I would make it as big as my stand would accomodate. Reasoning is might as well increase your water volume and create stability in your aquarium. 2 gallons more is better than your current 6, but 5 or even 10 more is a lot better. Again though, it's not needed. You're talking about 3 gallon water changes every 7th day will keep that baby prestine. Link to comment
