Ruester007
Last week I noticed that three separate colonies of zoas were not opening normally. After lights out I saw the tell-tail signs of pox.......not good. I started the Furan-2 dip process and one colony as rebounded nicely. The other two both 30+ polyps are not doing well and many of the runners between polyps have melted. While this is disappointing, I am ready to take drastic measures if needed. So a couple questions: 1. What is the likelihood that they can be saved? 2. Should I just toss them and move on? 3. Will what caused pox in the first place keep coming back or once the infected are removed does that deal with the issue? Thank you in advance. Link to comment
Tenor
You could frag them up and save the healthy polyps and toss the damaged or unhealthy one. Link to comment
Tamberav
I have treated the pox before with Furan-2 and it worked really well. It just took some time for it to all disappear. It did come back much later when my zoa's went through some stress but ended clearing up on its own. Basically stress causes it, especially temperature fluctuations. Did you have any new zoa's shipped to you perhaps? I have seen pox free zoa's have it show up during shipping in the colder months and it can spread to other colonys in the tank. Can you maybe QT them? I probably wouldn't want to give up on them. Link to comment
Ruester007
I hesitate to write this, but I might be winning the battle against the pox. Most all of the zoas are opening fully. I am going to treat them all one more round this weekend and let them rest. Should I be concerned about adding more zoas? Link to comment

I'm treating a couple of frags for the pox at the moment. Link to comment

Unfortunately, all but 3 polyps melted away. I have been hesitant to add any more for fear that the pox is still present in the tank. I hope you have better luck than I did. Link to comment
