Deejax
My cleanup crew currently consists of 15 dime to quarter size nerites, 13-16 hermits, 2 nassarius, and about 30-40 ceriths (10 florida rest dwarf). I have a 29 gallon biocube and I am still having algae problems with that crew. I'm not sure what type it is but I will attach pictures. They have not been in there(1 week) long do they just need time to catch up or should i purchase some additions to this crew? I'm trying to stay away from bigger snails like the turbos. joy13
You should have plenty in a 20 gallon tank. Find out what is causing the algae it could be anything from old bulbs, water quality, or food, once you figure it out chances are you won't need anymore snails. Link to comment
Deejax
Thanks for the reply I may be feeding too much I was trying to keep aggression down. I took a better picture of the algae and i'll attach. Is it just GHA or do i have a more serious problem? Link to comment
duncan-junkie
You could try removing some manually....I know sometimes when the GHA gets too long, your cuc wont touch it. So try and remove the long stringy stuff, and that should cut it down a bit and see it your cuc takes care of the rest. Otherwise, a lawn mower blenny would love to munch it down for ya.... Might wanna consider that?? Link to comment

Hopefully the crew will take over now but i may be getting one of those blennys in the near future lol Link to comment
duncan-junkie
Lawnmower blennys are beasts when it comes to algae, and so are starry blennys. If your looking for a more colorful blenny that eats algae, go for a bicolor blenny. I used to have one, and he was a great algae eater, he also had a sweet personality! Just make sure you have a secure top over ur tank, they like to jump! Link to comment
