nanofin
So I have had red turf algae in my nano reef for a few months now and have seen no sign of it receding. None of my livestock will touch it, so how can I get rid of it? Link to comment
GHill762
peroxide treatments would be one option. what algae eating livestock do you have? maybe a turbo or an emerald crab would help.. Link to comment
nanofin
I have quite a few snails, but none of them want to touch the stuff. I have some hermit crabs and a porcelain crab. It is a 15 gallon tank. Link to comment
ward827
+1 peroxide. If the 'hair' gets too long CUCs will usually not touch it. Link to comment

GHill762
There's a thread in this sub forum somewhere.. It's a pretty long thread hard to miss.. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/268706-peroxide-saves-my-tank-with-pics-to-prove-it/ Link to comment
ward827
So how do you go about peroxide treatments? I've never heard of it. Definitely check the peroxide thread on here. I dosed peroxide in my tank and it didn't do anything. It really worked when I pulled out my affected rock from the tank, dripped 100% 3% peroxide on the GHA (and around corals on the rock), let it sit for 3-5 minutes, rinsed with water change SW, and put back in my tank. In 3 days the GHA turned white and my CUC had a buffet! I have been GHA free ever since. BUT, results may vary. I was at a point where it was either try peroxide or break down my tank. I really had nothing to lose. Glad I tried it. Good luck. W- Link to comment
