jjmccloud2011
Hi guys I'm wondering if there's an optic maybe 80° or so that'll fit these hyper and true violet leds or I just have to use them without any to me it kinda looks like the Cree optics would fit but I'm just a noob at leds lol so what do I know anyway I'm also thinking of using one or the other for moon lights on a 300ma moonlight driver from rapid led anyone got any experience with this thx all opinions are welcome thx in advance Link to comment
jedimasterben
As long as they're the newer XT-E-style chips, you can use just about any optics to fit them, most optics are made to be generic and fit most LEDs. I would recommend against running them as moonlights. They're dim enough to our eyes, but bright to corals and fish that can see that light very well. Link to comment
davejo
jjmcloud2011, I was wondering where you got this idea from. I think it has been correctly mentioned that using hyper true LEDs would just be the same and equally bright as our normal lights. Fish have a different vision, they see things in 2D and even a little amount of light at depth is enough for them to be warned. Anyways, do led us know about your experience and whether using these LEDs helped. electronic assembly Link to comment
