Sbn_jsh
Hey, this seemed like the right place for this question. I was looking at both sites and reefrocks.net is the cheapest but I've seen some videos of BRS' rock and it looks great for aquascaping. Some photos of reefrocks looks the same as BRS but has anyone ordered both and compared? Link to comment
KoolKajun
I used reef saver and was very happy with it. Never tried reefrocks so I can't compare. BRS will send the sizes appropriate for your tank if you request. Link to comment
jbmoneys
Reef saver was great for me, and you generally can't go wrong with BRS. Link to comment
HVani
I used dry rock from reef cleaners and it was awesome! Great shapes and very clean. Just a bit of dust that needed to be rinsed off. I have used them 3 times now for dry rock and I have been extremely happy every time. Link to comment
chswkt
Just bought BRS reefsaver for my new setup and love them in my biocube and Nuvo 16. I've seen the other companies rocks at trade shows, they seem a little forced but that's just my opinion. Link to comment
Jackal_Knight
I also got some brs reef saver rock. I love it, its great stuff you'll be happy with it. Never tried the other stuff so i can say anything about it Link to comment
Ford101
I personally went with the BRS reef saver rocks, They are free of dead organics and are phosphate free. You just gotta rinse it off with some ro/di water thouroughly before use. I will say reef rocks has some awesome sand! its incredibly cheap and shipped right to your door, i have used them for that and was very satisfied. Link to comment
Tamberav
I would do either reef-cleaners rock or reef saver rock. I believe they are the nearly the exact same rock so just choose whichever is cheaper. Link to comment
ballhog
I went with BRS reef saver rocks. My tank had tons of different types of algae and nasty stuff. So I went a little overboard and nuked all the rock old and new, first with muratic acid, then bleach. Rinsed, dried it out, then put all the rock in a container and cycled it for a long long time. Overboard, probably. Link to comment
porksoda
Looks like no one has used the Reefrocks.net. I was hoping to see a review or pictures. Link to comment
frankdr
I went the BRS route also. I called first and the person I talked to recommended adding a note in the order comments about the size of tank (mine was a JBJ 28) so they can find pieces that are an appropriate size. They did a great job of packing it - so that I didn't get much rubble Link to comment
05XRunner
I have always bought the BRS reef saver and they look great super porous and lots of holes. I bought the reefrocks this time cause I only had about 5lb of BRS rocks left. The pics looked the same but in person they are not as attractive I think. Not as many holes they are more solid then BRS. I think lb for lb you would get more rock of BRS cause it's got lot more holes and would likely weigh less then reefrocks of same size. The reefrocks are nice but kinda wish I had all BRS again. BRS rocks on the right. Reefrocks middle and left. Link to comment
ClownTriggerDude
Make sure,....that you use a turkey baster or small powerhead to blow all the detritus out of the holes periodically. It's all great rock, but very porous and can collect a lot of debris. Link to comment
NanoTank1
I used reef rock and was annoyed. They claim to thoroughly clean the rocks prior to shipping. One of my rocks had a live hornet in it! Go with BRS. Link to comment
05XRunner
Lol I don't think you can blame them for that lol. They are probably kept in a big storage area and just got the lucky rock a hornet decided to land on. Lol Link to comment
