Yeah MAX this year was great. I think it was well worth the $15. I took my girl and she had a blast looking around and touching all the rays and starfish. There were definitely good deals to be had...I mean you can't beat getting 5p CAR's for $20.

Yeah I didn't make it this yr but from what socalireefs.com attendants said they weren't too impressed with MAX this yr and neither the previous yrs. It's definitely worth it to bring the kids over though since they have tanks where you let the kids pet/touch seastars, etc.

Yeah I know many people on SCR were critical of the event. It's definitely different here in SoCal, MAX was just all of our LFS under the same roof.

I just "refound" this thread.  I'm so sorry to everyone who loved the MAX show.   As much as I wanted to continue we couldn't keep up with so much resistance.   No matter how much I tried to help show everyone (via photos, attendees statements, etc.) there were simply too many rival members insistent upon tearing the show down.  I am but one man who volunteered to build something cool for this hobby; unfortunately the bad apples got their way.  MAX was a volunteer effort from day one, but for some reason many individual just can't accept that; as if good people doing something for the greater good simply can't exist in today's society.   Truth be told, Tammy and I are both handicapped and simply wanted to do something noble and memorable with our humble talents.  We did the best that we could with what limited resources we had available to us.  Keep in mind that I personally funded 99% of everything that you saw.  LOL, I can't help but smile when I think about all the work that I DON'T have to do anymore!  (Sadly, all the work and effort in the wold will still not satisfy some people).  In any case, to everyone both supporters and haters alike, I bid you farewell....

 with a smile :)
