So I got tired of waiting on my 5.5g to cycle (yeah, I made it 8 whole days), but instead of tossing things in the water and watching them die, I just started up a new nano:

 

 

It's an 11.4g Mr. Aqua with:

• Marinelane Reef LED Light
  
• Koralia 240gph Powerhead/Circulation Pump
  
• 9.2 lbs of Totoka LR
  
• ~19 lbs of Fiji Pink LS

Looks good. So how do these nano's work, just 10% water changes weekly? No filtration or skimming needed?

I think it's more like 15% weekly. This is my first foray into reefing, though, so I'm not the best one to ask. I found this site when I was first doing my research and really found the "Christopher Marks" method very interesting. The LR and LS provide all the filtration, and there is no skimmer. As you can see in the picture above, all I have is a heater and a circulation pump. We'll see how it goes
