miller_time
Alright, so I'm doing a water change tonite and I'm sucking up sand in my gravel when i notice something rolling around. Well I got a little closer and this thing was wild looking. I'd say it was about 1/2 inch long and looked just like an earthworm, i mean dead on like an earthworm. Just FYI i know what bristleworms look like, but this thing was no bristle worm, I hate to repeat it again, but it was dead on like an earthworm. Any ideas and to what it is, if so, are they harmless or not? Thanks Guys, Joey Link to comment

reefer21
It would be better if you could get a picture of this. That way someone could get a better idea of what you are describing to us. Link to comment
miller_time
I know pics are better, but i don't have a digital camera. I really hate to sound repetitive, but it looks just like an earthworm, a really small one. Link to comment
artc
I think I have the similar worm, it is very sensitive to lights and it hides in the holes in my marshall island rocks Check it out... please ID Link to comment
artc
this worm scans the surface of the sand and spits out the sand from the hole.... very cool... Link to comment
impur
Probably a peanut worm, which also looks like the worm in the pics provided above. I also have a few of these. They come in all sorts of colors, brown, white, banded, cream, probably black but haven't seen one that color. They are good little cleaners. Link to comment
newbiecarlz
is it segmented like an earthworm? Link to comment
artc
can's really tell.. it's difficult to see in a low light setting. But it has a tenticle that scan the surface of the sand... What do you think? Link to comment
idua
I have few of these worms as well. So far no problems. Link to comment
