LandSailor
Hi, What's the surface area per inch of the Makers LED heatsink? I looked and couldn't find it on the product page. Also, have you tested it with 10W or 20W chips? Thanks! Link to comment
mcclandy
Hi LandSailor, We haven't tried any 10W LEDs yet. Until we have some good data, I would stick with <5w LEDs. Below are some dimensions. Let me know if you need anything else: Link to comment
LandSailor
Thanks for the info! It has slightly more surface area than the profile I was going to use, although some of that would be tied up in the slots for the screwheads. Obviously, that's not where you want a lot of heat to be concentrated. Based on the vendor specs for the chips, it looks like a 12" section would handle seven 10W LEDs without cooling fan assistance. With the fan running, it should be a slam dunk, I might order a 12" kit to test for my lidless BC29 and the three chips it will need. (If they fail, I'm only out $24.) Link to comment
