Okay so i bought a sump from Rathje70 here at nano reef. His biocube journal is here http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...amp;hl=rathje70

I cleaned it up and patched up a couple of small baffle leaks and things are good to go....only i have never really done any overflow/sump plumbing...i'm a complete noob

Here is what i am planning on doing

http://www.reefs.org/library/diy/diy_winner1.html

Simple yet effective....Although i have a question about the 29 biocube:

1) when the power is off i notice that the back chambers tend to actually rise in water level....thus the overflow box would continue to receive more water and continue to drain down to the sump....i am assuming that there is a point at which it would stop....but is an overflow box a good option for me?

2) Anyone with a 29 biocube have an overflow box that they can should some pics of how they have it setup and working....it would be a big help

3) Planning on a Maxijet 1200 as a return pump...would that be acceptable?

Thanks for the help

i am not a plumber but i've plumbed 3-4 tanks adequately without leaks. i doubt the maxijet 1200 would have a good enough return due to headloss. there's calculators on reefcentral to determine headloss.
