Looks great! What's the stain color?

Exactly how I build my stand. In the kitchen with crappy tools. :P

Looks good. What the dimensions of the tank?

Thanks! the dimensions are 24x24x12T shallow cube. The tank on the opposite side of the wall on the ebony stained stand is 24x24x15T

Thanks! The color is American Walnut. The doors are actually stained Amber, but i could not find a stain called amber anywhere, so i had to color match as close as possible. That is not an easy task!

My wife didn't get mad even once! :P I also used a hand saw to cut the pieces!

Cool tank!

Thanks a lot! You have a great looking tank also!

Nice!

Thanks DHaut!

Purple Tang #2 in her new home, and enjoying her first meal in her new home, some good ol nori seeweed.

Both of my tangs will actually eat right from my fingers. They both go absolutely nuts when they see the nori package!

My pump is still a bit too strong for the tank. it is still throwing sand. But as the sand bed gets settled it will fix its self.

Frags were also thrown in just because i don't quite have my frag tank finished. Let me know what ya think!

Awesome tank... I've got a 24x24x12 build going as well..

Thanks! Ya i have been watching your thread! I made a comment or two on it also! It looks to be coming along very nicely! I love the shape of these tanks! Shallow cubes Rock!

Just about 1 week after the setup of this tank and putting it online with the 40g cube.

The sand storm has been contained and my LPS are starting to come out and look nice!

Traded about 15 zoa frags for a new light. It is a PFO hood, 250w ballast, 2x28W PC actinics and a XM 250W 20k bulb! The colors really POP with this setup! I have just rigged it up there for right now as i am now getting ready to move yet again to Cherokee, IA!

so here are some new pics!

Looks awesome. I love that they are plumbed together. I was actually briefly excited about you moving to Iowa, but I just realized you'll be like 4-5 hours away.

thanks for looking! Your tanks look great as well! If you are ever over this way for any reason let me know and i can get ya some cool zoas!

The plumbing together has helped out a lot! 1 chiller/heater/sump/dosing for 2 tanks! Much easier!

3 new additions within the last couple days!

First off, i got a new wrasse not sure of its origin or type, but looks to be some sort of fairy wrasse. Great looking color!

The second is a damsel with colorations i have never seen before.

And last but not least is a flame angel! He was in my buddies SPS tank and was nipping, so I gave him a try!

quick question for everyone with more knowledge than me!

I have yet to get into buying a calcium reactor, nor have i kept corals that would need a calcium reactor, but lately as you can tell i am starting to keep LPS, Clams and some easy sps. I was wondering, how safe it was to put Mrs. Wages pickling lime into a water bottle with water and dose it once a week just like liquid calcium. I have been buying the kent liquid calcium and dosing it, but could i use this instead? I would start very slow with just a small amount in a water bottle.

let me know your thoughts, as i know there are people out there that dose this at night with no problems.

From what I know, you shouldn't "dose" kalk, especially a large amount at once, its best to drip it in when the lights are out to help keep the PH swing in check. You could fairly easily set it up with a sort of ATO to your sump, plugged into a timer that comes on when the lights go out and have it added this way, although I think that MAY be too much added at once, depending on how much water evaporates throught the day.

It'll probably take a fair amount of testing to figure out how much kalk to use if adding in this manner to keep your levels where they belong, but ought to be worth it.

You'll need to keep an eye on your alkalinity also I believe while fine tuning your kalk regimen, its great for adding calcium, not so much for alk.

And I've used Balls pickling lime (probably the same as Mrs. Wage) in my 65gal tank, works great.

BTW, love your wife's tank, hope mine looks that good someday.
