Hey!

 

Here is our current 15 gallon mixed reef tank setup:

 

It was started from scratch on October 15, 2016.

As of this writing it is exactly 3 months old.

 

Details:

 

- Fluval 15 gallon tank with rear sump

- AI Prime HD LED x 1

- Real Reef Rock

- Arag-Alive Hawaiian Black Sand

- Fluval Protein Skimmer

- Finnex 50w Titanium Heater

- 6 balls of MarinePure Ceramic media

- Vertex ROX 0.8 Activated Carbon in passive mesh bag

 

- 2 cleaner shrimp

- 2 emerald crabs

- 2 clownfish

- 4 snails

- 1 ruby bubble tip anemone

- 1 purple tube anemone

 

Things are going well! It's the first time we have added anemones after such a short time, but I'm keeping an eye on the parameters and they are typically quite happy.

 

- lots of mushrooms, zoas, green star polyps, and various other things my wife knows the name of.

 

We have a deal:

I handle water parameters, tank equipment, and provide a stable habitat for her stuff to thrive. I keep the fine points of the science to myself.

 

She handles the visual aspects, the critter and Coral selection, the fragging, aquascaping, and knowing the fancy names of everything and whether they will get along with one another.

 

So far it's been a solid split of responsibilities in all our tanks we have had over the years!
