metrokat
2ish am update. I was awoken by my 4-legged ATO a little over 20 minutes ago. Exhibit A I thought he needed another escort to the litter box because he is scared of monsters in the dark but when I came out of my room I realized the mag 5 in the sump was gurgling. Dammit the ATO reservoir finished, how did the tank suck up 1.5 gallons in a few hours? It was not empty or close to being empty at the end of the day today. And then I saw white in the tank and I thought oh crap the KALK from the bottom of the reservoir got dumped in the tank. Anyway, shut off the pump and rushed around to fill a gallon jug with RODI. As I turned on the room lights to fill the ATO I saw it was almost full but the airtubing had come loose from the suction thingamajigger holding it. Okay that was waaaaaay better than KALK in the DT. Fixed the tubing. Turned on the mag 5. CLICK. GFCI outlet snapped off! That has never happened before. Holy Crap. Too much load obviously. I checked for water splashing or water leaks and everything was fine, there was too much load, it has been freezing here and all our heaters have been on. I took out the non essentials and the sump is back up and running. Not sure what TS would have done since technically I should be in London right now. My Four legged ATO is awesome ya? jedimasterben
Definitely glad you stayed stateside then! Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Made a birthday video of the tank. Still figuring out my new phablet's camera. Definitely glad you stayed stateside then! Me too Benny. On another note, I guess I know the GFCI outlets work and they will do the appropriate thing and turn off the power in the event of an over load on the wires. One lucky cat owner. I had a small heater practically explode the other day. What happened? 1 Quote Link to comment
patback
Kat. I saw the hitch hiking brain in the vid and it reminded me. Remember I posted about that fan worm making a home in mines mouth? It receded quite a bit and actually GREW ANOTHER RIM. Hopefully it grows completely in and I get 3 carribean roses now. Woo! Quote Link to comment
TeflonTomDosh
So my flight to London has been cancelled, or rather "postponed" till Dec 31st 2am. Let me know when you're ready to trade your "problems" for mine. LOL Quote Link to comment

patback
I had my glass-heater for water changes in my sump as a supplemental heater since I didn't have heat for a while after sandy, and the water level got a bit too low. (I've been super lax on reef stuff lately, which is te reason I forced myself to buy all new salt and rodi stuff). I came in to hear a sizzling, and I had a white corrosion all over the exposed glass of the heater and the rubber end piece had partially melted. An yes! Voice over! Quote Link to comment
metrokat
will do. Okay the cat is ready to snuggle back into bed, meowing his head off! Throwing things from the sideboard too. Quote Link to comment

(said gansta style) Sounds like you have some new TS quotes. "Meow" "Purrrr" More like MEOW WAKE THE EFF UP BITCH! And then he goes Purrr feed me a snack pretty momma. Kat, that vid was incredible!! I have never seen one done in slo-mo. Great effect! Now get some good rest, you have a lot of work to do tonight. For me, I often passed out by 10:00pm. Thank you Mark. I took a much better one but since I'm still learning about my phone, the slo mo feature actually records 8 seconds of film in every second (or the revers but you get the idea 8 sec=1sec) so a 3 min real time filming was a huge file! I couldn't do much with it, I wanted to edit it and add a sound track before uploading so instead I took a second video. Quote Link to comment
Veng
I really liked the slo-mo. It was really neat. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Thanks, it looks the best when just filming the clownfish, their fins make motions like a Spanish dancer. Absolutely beautiful, I'll post later. Quote Link to comment
