Hi folks, This is my first post on nano reef even though I'm a stalker for several years and only signed up recently. I have a Pico Fluval Spec V with a bunch of sps and some zoas . I had an idea of stacking another Fluval Spec V next to it and running a refugium but instead of drilling , I want to run the outlet of each pump into the other tank . My concern is that if the flow rate is off by a few ml I would eventually overflow one of the tanks ... the theory is to use float switches to stop overflowing .. dunno about the practical part. Has anyone tried this before ? If so please help my idea come to life . Any help/advice is greatly appreciated Tank specs: Fluval Spec V .Nanobox Tide mini . Hydor 214 with wavemaker 5secs on off cycle . Smart Micro Ato . 50W heater . Hi all - new to the forum. Have experience with fresh and brackish, but this is my first salt/reef tank. This is my first post since setting up my tank. Welcome any feedback. Tank set up on 3/10/17: Fluval Spec V Stock Filter, Light and Pump Coral 25 watt heater CaribSea live sand 4.5 lbs of live rock Salinity: 1.023 [No other testing done. Plan to bring water to my local shop on Friday to test levels and pick up my test kit so I can do more at home] Added Dr Tims: One and Only when first put in H20 Likely upgrades: Aq600 and/or Hydor 180 Light (eventually) maybe T5. Haven't explored much yet. Haven't committed but thinking of adding GSP + Zoa to start and a few inverts. Then one or two swimmers. Think rock formation may be a bit much for size tank. I like the layout but may remove some once things stabilize and I add livestock. (Got one one feather duster that hitchhiked.) Let me know what you think! Thanks!
