    Scolymia as first corals?

Hello, I am pondering on some corals of interest to populate my tank. I am not the biggest fan on soft corals and I am considering some zoas or maybe mushrooms, but I plan my tank to be filled mostly with sps. Since I am a long way before that, I have been quite interested in Australian Scolymias, but I am wondering if they are good candidates to some of the first corals in a tank. I have been reading about this beautiful corals and they appear to be easy to take care of given the right conditions. Considering the prices that these corals can get, I do not want to buy one just to kill it. What do you guys think? are Australian scolymias a good first coral? Thanks!
  2. Can anyone identify this thing attached to my scoly? It's been there since I purchased her from the LFS. It will inflate during light hours. Thank you, in advance!
  3. These guys have been cozy for 6 weeks...until last night! Or, at least, that's what it looks like. Is this what war looks like?
  4. Hi, I've seen videos were lobos and scolys lye next to each other and I really like the color contrast but in my experience, whenever closer, these corals attack each other. In two separate occasions my snails or fish had pushed an acan and a trachy next to a lobo and the lobo has digested part of those corals tissues. I've lost a piece of the acan and a big chunk of the trachy's head. For now, I've placed epoxy rings to prevent them for touching each other. Is it just this single lobo that is so aggresive? or should I definitively maintain a good distance beetween all of these corals? PD: in the pictures, the circular purple/green piece is the killer. The other two are its victims. Thanks
