  1. Picked this tank up for pretty darn cheap ($350 NZD / $212 USD), considering it comes with lights, skimmer, return pump, light timer and two rw4 power heads it was hard to say no too. Ended up using two little fishies, littlefeet flats to build the rock scape, the intention is to only have SPS coral with no sand so i can have decent amount of flow. Equipment: Red Sea Max 130d Setup Costs 1 x Two Little Fishies AquaStik Stone Grey - 114g $21.65 $21.65 3 x Two Little Fishies LittleFeet Flat Limestone Rock 2kg $20.78 $62.35 1 x Instant Ocean Sea Salt 6.8kg 189 Litre $39.04 $39.0 1 x TLF CorAffix Gel 20g Cyanoacrylate Adhesive. $12.96 $12.96 1 x Red Sea MAX 130d. $350. $350 Total. $295 USD $485.97 NZD Inhabitants: Nothing yet. Currently the tank is relegated to the garage as the office has a second desk in it for my partner so she can work from home during the new zealand lock down. 3rd May 2020, scaped and filled with salt water.
  2. Hey all, I am a newbie taking over a neglected tank. The tank is RSM 130 Original. It's been running for about 8 years and has in it: 1 clown 1 Damsiel 1 Yellow Eyed Tang 1 Diamond Goby 1 sand starfish 1 cleaner shrimp 1 Peppermint Shrimp some snails and crabs and lots of Rock and a Green Star polyp.(very concerned about the GSP because they have not really opened and look like they are slowly deteriorating. As of now, the only thing updated it the power head, from the original 2 to the new one they released, which is one. for this tank i am primarily looking to host these fish and add some simple coral to grow. For example: some polyps, Mushrooms, Leather and Anemones. as a student i have a tight budget, so please keep that in mind! This is my first tank and i am very excited to flip it around and prove to the original owner (my Dad) how beautiful it could become! I'm looking for advise on where to begin and how i can begin to turn this into a thing of beauty. Can anyone advise on an LED blue strip to add? as well as a way to make these fans quieter? Thanks everyone! Please see the pics below:

    Help with my new tank!!

Hey guys, I just got this new tank I'm really excited about!! It's a Red Sea Max 130L (29 gallon swimming area, 34 gallon with sump) I'm looking to replace the hood which has 2 55w compact T5s. I'm preforming the rimless mod soon so the oem loghts are going bye bye. The only thing is I can't figure out what light will work to grow my corals ( mostly beginner corals) I don't want to spend much ideally no more than $150-$170 I am really considering the Current USA ORBIT IC (LOOP kit) specifically the 18-24 inch model it's exactly $170 shipped from Amazon. Please let me know if this light will work for my tank here are some pics of my tank and a link to the light I'm talking about.
