Hey There, I am Manfred and live in the Netherlands, so first let me exuse me for my bad English. Together with my three dogs and five cats (breeding sphynx cats is another great hobby of mine), its pretty crowded in my home, but I figured that there was still room left for a small nano reef... I started up a Blue Marine 60 (almost 17 gallons). I have used natural seawater, with real reef rock and added biodigest. The BL dimensions are 15.7 x 17.7 x 13.8 inches h x l x d and comes with the following equipment: 1th compartment backside: Pieces of real reef rock Filtermedia: Chemi Pure blue nano Filterfloss 2nd compartment backside Skimmer: Blue Marine Skim 130 Skimmer Tunze 9001 3rd compartment backside: Pump: Blue Marine Reefpower 600 / pompcapaciteit 660 l/h Pump Sicce Syncra Silent 1.0 950l/h/ 251 US gph (3rd compartment backside)Heating: Fluval Edge ATO Tunze nano osmolator 3152 Lighting: Blue Marine stocklight: Nano LED 11 Reefled 50Heating: Fluval Edge Streaming: Jecod SW-2 Inhabitants: Fish: Clownfish 2x Sorft coral: Kenya tree / Capnella Imbricata Mushroom Green discosoma / green ears Brown dicosoma LPS: Pink tipped torch / Euphyllia Zoanthes sociatus blue yellow SPS: Green plate Montipora Australienis Montipora branched blue polyp Acroporo formosa green Inverterbrates: 4x sand snails Nassarius Vibes 3x Trochus snail 1x Blue hermit crab Like I already said I started with natural seawater, real reef rock and some Biodigest, so the starting cycle may take a while. It gives me the opportunity to think about, which live stock is going to live in the Little Blue One.

Hello Nano Reef I finally decided to pull the trigger and convert one of my planted tanks to a reef and I would like to document my progress/mistakes/help. Updated Equipment Tank: CADE, CB600, 60x45x45 (120L) Fixture: I'll be using an 4x24w ATI Powermodule (because I already have it). Bulbs: 2x blue +, purple + and actinic. Return pump: Jecod 6000dc Skimmer: Tunze 9004dc Doser: Coral Box wifi Reactor: Coral Box Bio Filtration: Marine Pure Flow: MP10qd ATO: Tunze 3155 Updated other gear Rowaphos Matrix Carbon Real Live Rock Quantum Reef Essential Mixed Macro Probiotic Salt Last weekend I took the tank to a guy who does commercial and domestic reef installations. He's drilling the tank for me and making a phantom overflow, a sump (65L) and he's going to wrap the rear panel with black vinyl. Can't wait to see how to turns out. It ought be done in 2 weeks time. A friend of mine had a epic 3ft nano reef a while back (Mike). So I'm picking his brain for advice as much as I can. I hope I can do the some here on this forum. Problem is, I don't know what I don't know. To rectify this I'm going through this forum reading heaps (really enjoying it), and I'm watching the BRS 52 week video series. I'm up to week 14. He skipped over sand pretty quick. I like the idea of black sand, but the BRS guy hints that it's not a good idea. Not 100% sure why. Anyway, I know people like pics so here's one of what the 2ft used to look like (my IAPLC entry this year) and one of my 3 tanks from last week.
