Hi to all I have been lurking in this forum for a few years waiting to get involved in this beautiful hobby. Not having the time, enough knowledge, space, or resources, I procrastinated the start up of my 14 gal bio cube. On my daily lurking schedule I read Christopher Marks announcement for the Old School 2.5 gal Pico Reef competition. And as life has settle down a bit I think it’s time to begin. I don’t run for the price, I run for the joy, and to keep a continuos advance in my Pico reef and to keep track of it. I am very excited, it is a great forum, because of all of you, and the best way to learn and share knowledge. When I saw this challenge, I knew I wanted to participate. Finding the right tank was a challenge. All of Petco's 2.5s had terrible seal jobs. Finally, a month later, found a Seapora at a LFS for a little more ($15.99). I was in such a hurry, I didn't take a picture before painting the back and bottom. I am a huge fan of all HOT chips out there. UTZ being my favorite. And my drink of choice is Captain Morgan's Rum and Pepsi. But, as this is a budget build, I am substituting Admiral Nelson's rum. As far as equipment goes; Seapora standard 2.5g tank Tetra preset 25w heater Aqua Clear 30 HOB or Generic pump used as a powerhead (can't decide which way) Bare bottom 1 Large dry rock 2 smaller dry rocks All livestock from the other tanks I have Thanks for following.
