  1. The tube returns! Plans - I'm not sure, the Rollands will likely be banished here to keep it cycled. Lots of Macro once it's in season again, maybe an elegance or some euphyllia to just let go nuts in a nutrient-heavy system. I may as well do a little pricing game since I tagged this as a #BudgetReef, I'll update below whenever anything gets added: -Atoll tank, freebie with $130 AI Prime (I sold the light, bought a prime hd for 120 and then sold that - in any case the light's not on the tank so I don't think it counts) -Return pump, came with tank -Finnex Titanium Heater $20 -ABI Tuna Blue PAR 38 $30 ($3 for the lowedepot bargain fixture and $2 for the pie-tin light-shield) 12/20 Replaced with equal-cost NiCrew Hyperreef -Branch Rock $15 -Rolland's Damselfish $20 ($0 after store-credit, but that's kind of cheating) -Dragons Breath $0 (Was $5 for the original frag, but little lydia likes to frag it for me) -Odd Frogspawn morph $0 ( $5 originally, Came from 20L system -should maybe count?) -White Tipped Torch $0 ($10 originally, Came from 20L system -should maybe count?) -Pair of Trochus $3 -Red Legged hermit and shells $2 -4+ dwarf ceriths $0 (compliments of old tank and possible baby-time, still have a few juvie trochus growing up) -Branching Briarium $5 March Additions: -Duncan (purchased by my wonderful wife) $10 -Bravo Favia (Some crazy oaf of a monkey came in and fragged the original $15 animal, what luck!) -Baby Acan colony $20 May Additions: -Chalice coral from 20 Long $0 ($10 or so last year -might need to count?) -Iron Man Disco $12 August Additions: -Neon Green Sinularia $10 -Autumn Favia $5 -Hydor Centrifugal 260 Return pump $25 November Additions: -Gobstopper Zoanthid $3 PP $10 -Miami Hurricane Chalice $5 (Thank you PieMan2k for the ID) -Mystic Monti $Free.99 December Shuffling: -Sinularia swapped with Trumpet coral -Par Bulb swapped for NiCrew $192 Total This is about the tanks, not me, so I decided to post every acrylic-tanks favorite snackfood, Polish... I may have accidentally crazed the whole interior with a paper-towel which previously had rubbing alcohol on it, and it may have taken a few days to polish it clear again. Whole setup is just waiting for a table to sit on, and then will get wet and dirty with some nice pre-cycled rock, I'll even toss a damsel in for color!

    What are these??

Hi everyone, I am new to this whole reefing thing and am enjoying all the gains I have made so far. I just noticed these things growing out of the octospawn (euphyllia). I haven’t really noticed it before because it is at the back of the tank and I figured I would do a wellness check on it. Anyone seen this before? Is it just growing more? Something to worry about? The thing looks healthy and is thriving so I am not too concerned more just curious. thanks in advance

    20g AIO DIY Peninsula

Alright so here goes the ultimate adventure! Transfering my 15g tall to the new 20g Long I put together. Shout out to Cromag who cut the acrylic I needed for this project. 3 Years ago... 11/22/20 - Orphek 15,000k filter 2/28/21 - Dino’s again 3 months strong (literally the next week after the photo above I had yet another annual outbreak.

    Sapling’s 45p nano

Hello everyone, so due to a incredibly rushed move I was forced to break down my fusion 10 and diy 25 😞 so two days here I decided to start a new tank! There’s a lot of local stores here and I amazingly saw a 45p and just had to have it when I saw. Anyways the equipment is a bit bare bones 1 aquaclear 30 1 aquatop 50w 1 nanobox tide I was able to take with me 11 pounds dry LR 10 pounds live sand ive decided to use dr Tim’s fishless cycle method and have been following that dosing with the ammonium chloride. Until the cycle is over I only have a sponge but plan to use purigen as well. Possibly red seas supplements or some other phosphate removal to correct water parameters from SW from the store. The next thing im thinking of is making a stand to house either a small sump to use Lily pipes to hide equipment or an ATO and reservoir, as evaporation is incredibly fast in Phoenix compared to Memphis. My planned inhabitants will most likely be no fish. As for corals, I’m wanting to keep a euphillia dominated tank. Possibly a couple other mushroom or lps. I’m currently looking at a large group of sexy shrimp with a couple other small critters like hermits and snails. I am also wanting to seed the tank with copepods but unsure what cultures I should be looking at? Is there any recommendation? Anyways here are the pictures of the tank so far! 7/23/18 thank you for any comments or advice!
  5. Hey Nano reef! So long story short, due to a long distance move to phoenix via plane, I have been forced to break down all my tanks, and sell my corals and fish. while I was selling my coral, I had noticed while I was getting ready to sell a coral, about a 1/4" from my octospawn, I saw 1 of its little tentacles on the ground, I know it wasnt nipped or injured, and the tentacle still has it's coloring well fast forward 24 hrs, and none of the scavengers ate it overnight, and it still has it's color, has anyone heard of this happening? I assume it cant split from that and I have no idea how the tentacle dropped. thanks in advance!
