TIME FOR AN UPGRADE(EVO 12 to Reefer 170) additional equipment added😁
Mike P posted a topic in Beginners Discussion
I decided to finally purchase a bigger tank and pulled the trigger on a white Red Sea reefer 170 this morning. I decided to get it from saltwateraquarium.com since you can select a freebie. I’m pretty excited and can’t wait to transfer everything out of my evo to the new tank. I still need to purchase skimmer, return pump, heater, sand, and rock. Can anyone tell me what’s the best way to transfer my sand and rock to the new tank? I want to make sure everything is done correctly so I don’t kill anything and want to start planning already- 61 replies

Dimensions: 11.8" x 7.0" x 8.3" Volume: 1.76G(overall) 2.5G(empty) Lighting: 3 x 12" TrueLumen Pro Strips Equipment: AquaClear 20 Heater: none yet (usually maintained at 78–80º F) Circulation: Might add a small powerhead later on Photoperiod: Planning on running it at full power for 8 hrs or so Filtration: 250mL of SeaChem Matrix and stock sponge Livestock: My plan for this tank is to turn it into a small zoa garden with a few encrusting Montipora on either the back wall on Background: Over the past 2.5 years that I’ve been in the Marine side of hobby I’ve set up 3 reef tanks so far a CoralLife Biocube 29, Nuvo 8G and a 20G Long all of which are still up and running. So as many of you know after being in the even a couple of years can lead the collection of old lighting systems, extra rock, and a constant urge for more. That’s where this Pico comes into the scene.I hope that this build will come close to being as awesome as @el fabuloso , @pj86 and @.Newman.epic 3g picos.

Hey guys! I will be traveling Wednesday - Sunday this week to visit Innovative Marine, attend Reefapalooza LA and visit customers. If you are in the area please check out @Marine Depot booth! They will be showing off a NanoBox Mini Flare over a planted aquarium. I will be attending the show for a couple hours a day so lets link up! I would love to meet a few of the west coast customer base. These events are some of the best out there. Don't miss it! -Dave
