    Gravity’s Biocube 14G

This is my first reef tank and is currently around 21 months old. Late into my first year I experienced some Dino and had really slowed my coral growth. It has taken many months to get things growing again. I initially started this tank as a softy and LPS build but it has now shifted to a softy tank. 2. Hi guys, so my tank is doing great so far. Parameters are all great. Fish are healthy, I have 3 corals (leather, zoas and elegance). They are healthy but the leather started looking droopy yesterday, this is the picture below: Today I woke up to this: I thought it was dying but LFS told me it is not as it is still open, to use the coral glue to glue it back into the rock and glue that small piece that fell off separately to grow a new one next to it, so I did it and this is the result below: In literally 3 hours I observed it as it slowly and slowly started to detach itself AGAIN until now this is the view (it fell behind the zoa garden so you cant see, they are closed because lights were off): I am now panicking, I dont know what to do or how to approach this, I dont want to do something else and have this happen again. So please if anybody has a solution to this, please tell me before I do something else. It is laying on the sand and I am afraid it would die.. Everything else in the tank is healthier than ever before. Thanks..
  3. I purchased this around 7 months ago, and it has absolutely exploded in size. So much so that it’s now too big for my nano..... I’m not confident when it comes to fragging so I’d like to find it a new home. I count 9 frags at 2+ inches each, not including the stalk. this thing is 8” tall and 7” wide when fully opened. Asking $125 local pickup. Frags should pull $300+

    leather coral problems

Hi i recently purchased a green polyp leather for my tank(about two weeks ago) my water parameters are all good. everything else in the tank is doing well, just not the leather. he did start to shed and does extend polyps at night. I'm just not sure why he won't extend during the day. does anybody have any idea?
  5. hey Guys was wonder if anyone has any thoughts of what is eating my zoas water parameters are perfect and my SPS, Duncans, hammer, plays, mushrooms are doing great but......weird things started to happen three weeks ago after i added a few zoo frags and a skunk cleaner shrimp there is something bothering my zoas, and they are not always fully open as they used to be in one colony noticed one skirt was eaten from one side (regenerating now) my favourite and healthiest colony was all closed up for two days then slowly recovering i had a japanese leather frag attached with a toothpick/glue to a frag completely eaten up from the plug and floated away and today came from work after a 24 hrs shift a two weeks old frag of zoa is gone!!!!!! like nothing on it except glue! it had three small heads but was very securely glued and was starting to heal and doing great but there is no sign of it at all...I noticed most this happen when i don't feed for a day ( away for work) my livestock are 2 clowns tailspot blenny 2 nassarius snails countless torchus snails as they are having a party all the time may 4 big ones and hundred small ones i also noticed some big pods like 3-4 mm and they everywhere including these colonies... i do have an algae problem but not too too bad, hair algae and sea lettuce red sea max 34 gl AIO rebuilt i feed Mysis/ LS pellets/ reefroids... thoughts on skunk shrimp and or pods eating softies? looked for nudis and zoa pox, zoo eating spider and couldn't see anything,,, just pods some are tiny and dark in color some are big almost like a small ant should i get a wrasse to eat the pods? if so which wrasse is suitable for a 34 gl with crushed corals?

    leather coral problem

so i got this leather coral about two weeks ago. it has yet to open up during the day. it opens and extends polyps at night. i did notice it was shedding a few days ago. my water parameters are all good. all my other corals are opening and extending really well. do you think it is getting too much light. i run the current orbit marine led (which is not that great) so I'm a bit confused why its not opening. anybody have any input? thanks

Is this normal for a toadstool leather???

So my toadstool seems like it’s shrinking. The edges are folding down so it might just be giving me the illusion of it shrinking because it’s covering the stem. Is this normal for a toadstool? It’s been doing this Id day for the past week. The polyps are still extending so I know it’s not shedding. I tried changing the flow but didn’t make much of a difference. My parameters are all up to par salinity is always constant at 1.024, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, ph is a little low at 8, and notates are at 5 ppm. Heres some before and after shots. Around the time I fist got it to now.

    What coral is this???

Can you help me identify this coral? I was looking for a toadstool leather coral in hopes my clownfish would host on it when it became large enough. This is also my first coral, so I thought a TL would be good as a start. I went to my LFS and told them what I was looking for but the guy didn’t really seem sure this was a toadstool, then later on decided it was. I’m just trying to make sure I know what this coral is so if you have a pretty good idea feel free to leave a comment. Thanks in advance. Forgot to mention I got this yesterday so it might not be fully opened up, I also saw my emerald picking at it a couple of hours before taking the picture which made it shrink up.

    Toadstool leather looking rough

I got a toadstool leather yesterday, and at first it was doing really well, had acclimated fine and stood up and opened almost immediately until the lights went out. This morning, same thing, came right up (first picture). Past few hours it has seemed extremely unhappy and won't come out at all..normal? Bad? Need some help here (second picture) Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Ph - 8.1 Nitrate - 5-10ppm Phosphates - 0.25 ppm Alk - 11dkh, or 196ppm Calc - roughly 420-440 Salinity - 1.0245 I know there's a phos and alk issue, it was worse, I'm successfully combating it!?? Does it need more flow (I have a 1000 pump in a chamber and a 250gph powerhead in the opposite corner of the stock one)? Is it just acclimating? Does it need to be moved? Closest corals are some acans (2" away) and a frogspawn (3" away).
