Just looked in my tank, and all my corals are pouting. What do you guys do when you see something like this? I did a water change with nutri seawater (first time using it) 6 or so hours ago, but my corals don’t usually get this mad at me with water changes. I included a picture of my parameter chart for a reference. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!
So I have had a beautiful little duo of toadstool leathers since for 3 and a half months, the tank has been up for 5 months. And for the past month or so there has been this weird born stuff on my toadstool leather, one of them has this the other doesn't, and my finder leather is acting a little weird but thats for another time, the other toadstool and the "tree" leather in the tank are doing fine, and no other coral/leather has this stuff on it, ive tried blowing it off but it a no go, about once or twice a week it will be open and extended but all the other time no so much. The leather literally RIGHT next to it is doing great and has grown a fair bit. Photos will be down below...
Hello everyone, I decided to buy myself a Japanese leather coral for myself as a college graduation gift. (That's my excuse to the fiancé at least hehe) However, I was not able to find much on their care requirements. for example, im finding that it doesn't seem to like the white spectrum of light. It stayed scrunched up until I turned my white lighting down and went mostly to blues. It seems to be much more sensitive than the other corals I've put in my tank. (Most of them have bounced back in a day or so after being put in the tank.) I don't have a powerful light, just the USA orbit marine lc. does anyone have any care/ acclimation tips they can share with me so I can be sure to keep it healthy?
mickeyc1195 posted a topic in Nano Reef JournalsSo I have entered the big challenge for 2018 for us nano reefers. So I figured to put my build up on the forum since I've been trying to find a build where someone was mostly if not only focused on using leather corals. Yes they are pretty simple but, with the right combination I think I can create a pretty good display. Keeping it simple: Heater AI Prime 12x12x12 cube Minimal sand 6lbs of rock Powerhead And NO FILTER Simply a water change once to every two weeks should be fine since leathers prefer little dirty water. My bio load will also be minimal with two tiny super tiny bullethole clown fish. Will post pics very soon! P.s. this is my first topic... wish me luck ?
