    Jebao SW-2

Hi Everyone, It recently was recommend to me to switch from a Jebao PP-4 to a Jebao SW-2 for my 5 gallon tank. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue where during the W1 mode, the SW-2 propeller doesn't ever stop spinning. I know for my PP-4, it would start and stop like a pulse. Also, does who has had both know if SW-2 makes more noise than a PP-4? I'm getting almost a raspy sound every time it spins.

    Swift's 65 Gallon

I have been in the hobby for over 20 years now. Every tank I have had in the past has been some version of an All-In-One or a simple sump-less set up. I was inspired by the all-in-one tanks that were very popular on nano-reef about ten years ago. Since then I've had various Biocubes, Nanocubes, and DIY all-in-ones. I worked for short while at a Local Fish Store and kept various aquariums and reef tanks that I periodically broke down as I moved from rental house to rental house. My most recent tank was a 29 biocube filled to the brim with LPS and Softies. I started it in September of 2015. My wife and I moved the tank from a rental house to our first home together in January of 2017. Almost two years later I moved all of the corals out of the 3 year old 29 and into my new (used) 65 gallon rimless. The tank was a smoking deal at $240 with stand, sump, return pump, and a great skimmer all included (along with some miscellaneous parts). It has a couple superficial scratches but a few scratches never bothered me much. I made the move on November 30th... Here are some photos of my old 29, the move, and the new tank. I hoping to keep a better journal than I have with past tanks. Let me know what you think!

    Jebao OW10 v SW2

OK, I am researching affordable wave maker options for a 12g long and I had been looking at a pair of Jebao SW2s, but then I stumbled across the new OW10. So, despite the obvious hardware upgrades, moving from a dipole drive to a quadpole and more electronics moved into the controller...have any of you had experience with both, and if so, would you say the OW10 is a reasonably better product versus the SW2? If you have the OW10, how long have you been running it/them and what is your personal opinion on this creature? Or do you want to finance a pair of MP10wQD's for me to shut up! Links: SW2: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS8782D/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I3ONTTBZVZ0K7&colid=22KGV9V9ZHVQI&psc=0 OW10: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078TPF5L2/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1EVEHRDRMHL43&colid=22KGV9V9ZHVQI&psc=1
  8. My jebao RW-4 and RW-15 stopped randomly. I am tired of jebao wavemaker and searching for alternative. Then I saw that coralbox QP series and Jebao new OW series wavemaker stated they move the electronic to the controller and not the pump. That makes the pump life longer. I am still confused by their statements. Can anyone help me to clarify? I don't want to waste anymore money on their crappy pumps. I have consider maxspect gyre but my friend is complaining about sudden drop in flow rate. Icecap 3k and glamorca 3k have a lot of bad reviews on noise and impeller bushings. Jebo CP pumps seems to be stop working a lot. Tunze is simply ugly. Rossmont is AC and will probably have short lifespan with controller. Ecotech wavemakers will cost me a kidney. So my search for an inexpensive reliable wavemaker continues.
  9. Skimmer- used for 1 month. Downsized, not needed. SCA 301 skimmer. Pick up in NH only. $50 Jebao dct 4000 - NO use at all. Bought, never used. $50
  10. Hello all, CURRENT FTS: I'm new to the hobby of saltwater aquariums and wanted to share the progression of my build with you all! I've done freshwater planted tanks in the past and finally made the decision to play in the big leagues and start a reef tank! Here is my equipment list so far: ADA 60F 8.6 Gallon rimless aqaurium 30 gallon DIY sump with refugium and liverock sections Mame medium sized overflow Eshopps Eclipse Overflow Box (small) Kessil A160WE 40W LED Light DIY Protein skimmer Bubble Magus Curve 5 Protein Skimmer 36W LED Grow light for Refugium Top Fin circulation pump Ecotech Mp10 Koolermax AR-122 6-stage RO+DI Quietpro 1.2 Controlled Pump DIY float valve auto top off Jebao dosing pump Since I live near the coast in Southern California, I will be using mostly natural seawater filtered through filter floss and activated carbon for my water changes (except for after rainstorms when runoff destroys the water quality). I cant wait to have the tank up and running! There are many pictures to come so stay tuned! (Yes, I know the filter sock is the complete wrong size)
  11. Hi. The motors of my Jebao DP-4 Dosing Pump are corroding. Of the 4 pumps/heads, the 2 that are being used for dosing vinegar are the only ones getting their motor pins corroded. I'm guessing that somehow, a little bit of the vinegar gets its way out of the head tubing and into the motor pin. Nothing is wet in there... So it must be very little or even some kind of fume, gas or exudation. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas of what could be happening? Also, if you are dosing vinegar via dosing pump, I would like to know which dosing pumps are you using without issue (let's say for a year+). Thanks.

    Nano Flow

Alright, so I did some searched and didn't really found something that I found helpful per se. I'm just wondering what kind of setting I should use for a Jebao SW-2 wave maker on 13.5 gallon nano (EVO). I currently have softs corals and 1 SPS in it. I also found out that the stock powerhead is WEAK as f*ck so I'll probably have to upgrade that for more circulation.

    Coral box pump - experiences?

I ordered a Jebao pump off Amazon and the seller shipped me a Coral Box quiet pump instead, claiming it's an "upgrade." Anyone have any experience with these? I'm trying to determine if it is a good pump or if I need to return it.

Rw 4 tested on 5 gallon PICO

I searched for rw4 in a Pico before I bought one , but didn't find good evidence so I got mine and sharing .. Settings lowest power . W1 and pulse 2 clicks higher than midpoint. Tried running other modes but it's just seems impractical in else mode and even H is too much ! I just wanted pulse waves so I had to get it ! Oh BTW lowest power on rw4 is slightly more turbulent than a Hydor nano general flow . On full power this thing got a 50 gallon brute can full of water steady rocking !
