  1. December 1st started a new tank, I’m going to catch-up the journal a little at a time! To start my Rock and sand where in tank prior to the scape cycling for a month or maybe little longer. After the scape I’ll be adding copepods, a fish or two each week and corals pretty quickly. It’s going to be almost an insta tank. P.S. if your new to the hobby then don’t try this at home. Tank: Fiji Cube 20 Gallon Peninsula AIO Nano Filtration: Fiji Cube Media Basket heater: cobalt aquatics neo-therm 100w heater (best heater brand and type for a nano) Water Flow: upgraded to sicce return pump hygger Mini wavemaker set to 40% with a few different wave patterns through the day and night Sand: CaribSea Fiji Pink live Sand Rock: Real Reef Soulutions - Mini Reef Box Reef-Ready Rock Mix (The best rock I have ever used!) Aquascape: Prior Journal:
  2. Setting up a new 12g loooong tank. This is my dream nano and now that we are in a new house and staying for 10+ years I am getting everything set up! I drilled the overflow today and no cracks! Very little edge chipping so that was a big win 😊 still need to drill for the returns though. I plan on running one pump to two returns. Due to sump size I don't want to run two pumps. Does any one see a issue with this plan on my returns? Pump: 24v dc pump 1000gph Overflow: Low profile Fiji 400 Overflow /return pipe: 3/4 in pvc Return pipe: 1/2 in pvc
  3. Well, well. Here we go again. I started the Lifegard Aquatics Crystal Aquarium AIO Clubs. I figured why not one for FIJICUBE AIO owners or prospective owners. Since it hasn't been one yet, I say we get this show started! Checkout https://www.fijicube.com there are a couple options as far AIO tanks go. I'll do what I did on the last thread and make a compiled list of links to member's tanks on this page, as a reference to anyone interested in these systems. Let's get this party started. And as always, feel free to discuss your ideas, builds, etc. Lets get rolling !. Please also check out the Lifegard Aquatics AIO club as well! We've begun to gain some serious track there! I look forward to seeing this thread going. Happy reefing! - Reefahbarra84 PS, this is what I've got lined up 😉
  4. Ok guys this is going to be a fun one... after much thought and debate on that tank and theme I wanted to use for this challenge I went with what I had.I did not want to build out 3 tanks at once and a move coming up sometime in the next 2-4 months I wanted to keep it somewhat simple. the theme is: color & flower power and inverts... as the tank will focus on rock flower nems, mini max nems, zoas and any thing that is flower like and colorful. I had so many themes I wanted to use here i needed 3-5 tanks, eh that not gonna happen. Tank info fiji cube 18.5 peninsula such an amazing little tank return pump I just upgraded to the eheim 1000 a bit more flow but the same noise level as the stock RT pump. intake flow none at this time but that could change skimmer none I will do Wc and media lighting 1X AI prime HD and 3D reefing defuser- perfect light I will be running a low level BRS AB+ profile LR real reef rock making some DIY branch I might add after the move if it turn out well. ATO auto aqua micro I really like this ATO more the the big tunze and ATK I used it on my big tanks and never got around to the ATK still new in the box. Sand carib sea special grade. love this stuff. almost went BB but I love the look of sand so much. heater a small finnex heater with digital read out. might be something I replace here soon. temp control not 100% decided on this one but I am leaning towards getting a PM1 and eb4 or 8 and extending my apex for the long haul. or a ranco upgrades down the road: ~ gonna have @This guy is extra salty build me a media basket. gonna look and work better then the egg creat I was thinking about. ~Vca RGF I have the .5" RFG but need to get the real loc line so it will fit. hoping to keep Power heads out of the DT for this one. ~after/during the move I might build a Tsot stand for the little guy if I feel the stand I have it not working or does not go with the new house. ~ in the processes of making some DIY branch rock something I am excited about and wanted to try for years, however it will take 2-3 weeks to make and 3-6 weeks to fully cure . ~ DIY upflow ATS, not sure I will need it or not but I plan to make ( and Have all the goodies ) a ATS for AIO nano stay tuned. So some of you my remember this tank from a build I started a few months ago. tank only had sand, LR, and the nems. NO fish or CUC was just setting here, whent through a bad algae out break and was starting a red slime cycle. so I really wanted to be part of the FUN and getting a new tank in time for the dead line was looking slim at best that and the added extra cost of a new set up with all the goodies only to have in run in the basement mech room at the new place. and moving it seemed like a bad idea I thought the why spend all the time and money to only see it 2x a day in the basement fish room. SO I cleaned this tank up, let it dry out for a few hours, gave the rocks a good scrub clean the heck out of the sand and re-scaped. took most of the day but today is a slow day for me anyway. condiment pic : nice clean sand: new scape top down: front on: the Kitty is happy I am done messing with the nano it's here nap time after all in her fav. nap spot.

    Stocking a 40 Breeder

Long story short I was gonna a IM 25g lagoon because of the AIO and the Dimensions, I always liked 40breeders but I don't have the space for a sump but I don't want a ton of hang on equipment. Then finally I found a product called "Fiji AIO box" which you just slide into the tank and boom! its a AIO. So I'm going with a 40 breeder reef. Equipment and stocking are below. Equipment -Tunze 9001 -Chemipure blue -Seachem Matrix -Poly filter pad -Ehiem Jager 150w heater -Micro ATO -Eflux 600 powerhead -Current USA marine orbit (Will upgrade if I ever want to try harder corals) -60 LBS of LR -40 LBS of Arag-alive Corals -Zoas -Toadstool Leather -Finger Leather -GSP (separate rock) -Blasto -Hammer -Frogspawn -Maybe a torch Fish & Inverts -1 Flame Angel -1 Yellow Corris Wrasse -Pair of OCC. Clowns -1 Watchmen & shrimp pair - 3-4 trochus snails - 3-4 Narrsarius snails -1 Cleaner shrimp -1 Tuxedo urchin Is this a good list? Is there anything you would change or take out? Any thoughts much appreciated.
  6. What the flip is up guys, I'm back on the forums and better than ever!! If your lazy and don't like to read like me just watch my videos! To preface I am a senior college student studying Renewable Energies and sustainability -Been keeping Reef aquariums since I was in 8th Grade.... 8 or so years? w/e you get the deal -Trying to have a social life drinking and listening to Post Malone while keep a mildly alarming aquarium addiction (obsession?) f So I got this aquarium to downsize from a Deep blue 20 gallon DIY AIO (that's a lot of acronyms i know, Do it yourself All in one, is what it stands for) So the stocking is a little bit tight but one thing i like to challenge is the typical Reef norms, I HATE to follow the rules though I understand in some cases there's logical reason to. I am not talking about throwing a blue tang in my 7 gallon nano tank or unplugging my protein skimmer and just doing months water changes LOL. No those people are ridiculous but I will challenge type norms and try to use logical reason to support my challenges. Most people would say my Maroon clown and Mandarin need to go and I would agree but not now, I change tanks like your Uncle Steve changes Wives (Every 1-2 years) So this really is not a long term obligation to keep these fish together forever. Okay! If you made this long without skipping you get a pat on your back. Now the Current Tank Equipment: -Fiji Cube 7 gallon AIO Pico -Maxi Jet 400 return pump (swapped the stock rio because it sucks and doesnt allow the AIO to skim) -AI nonPrime that ramps all day from 3%-60% -Ceramic rings, foam pad, Red Sea Carbon -Tunze Doc 9001(Baus Skimmer, I love this guy) -Dosing Kalk in ATO (a Quart jug I mix once a week or so) -Glass marineland heater that i need to get rid of Inhabitants starting with fish -Misbar Maroon clown -Yellow cleaner Goby -Tailspot Goby (He is the biggest wuss) -Mandarin Goby -Skunk Cleaner (this guys a savage) -Emerald Crab -Hermits and snails -Blue Tux Urchin (love this guy but he kinda needs more room) -Green Bubbletip Anemone -Green Frogspawn, Green hammer, Three types of Acans, Pink/green Blastos, Orange Zoas, Xenia Here is a 4K video of my tank check em out! I also have an unboxing of my Fiji cube on my youtube page definitely check that out Ill try to update this weekly or whenever something big happens
