  2. I decided to finally purchase a bigger tank and pulled the trigger on a white Red Sea reefer 170 this morning. I decided to get it from saltwateraquarium.com since you can select a freebie. I’m pretty excited and can’t wait to transfer everything out of my evo to the new tank. I still need to purchase skimmer, return pump, heater, sand, and rock. Can anyone tell me what’s the best way to transfer my sand and rock to the new tank? I want to make sure everything is done correctly so I don’t kill anything and want to start planning already

Ideas on how to fail safe a doser?

Hey NR community, need your help! I am considering using a stand alone doser to dose Red Sea foundation ( alkalinity and maybe calcium periodically) and would like to first figure out a good way to fail safe it so that I minimize my risk for overdosing/catastrophe. I DO NOT have an apex nor do I really want one for my nano, so I don’t think it’s possible to use the pH method to turn the doser off if the pH rises above the set parameter. I’ve heard of some people using outlet relays... but I’m not sure that will work. Does anyone have ideas on how I might be able to fail safe a stand alone doser without an apex? Thanks so much!
  7. Hi. I have been researching a bit about dosing pumps, testing a couple of them, comparing features, etc. trying to find out the ideal feature set for nano reefers. I'm considering building a product prototype. I assume that most nano reefers use dosing pumps for: Carbon dosing (vinegar, nopox) Alkalinity Calcium Magnesium Perhaps additives like the ones from KZ (Zeovit). Some thoughts (product design goals): Must be able to dispense small doses with a good level of accuracy. 1ml accuracy? Adjustable flow rate from 5 - 14 ml/minute would be ideal? Good enough for the needs of most nano reefers? Must be compact. What do you think about a dosing pump that comes with a power supply for stand-alone use (with a separate timer, just like most people do with BRS and Drew's dosing pumps), but also has an optional cable for connecting it directly to the 24DC port of a Neptune Apex controller? Would that be a desirable option? Easily replaceable pump heads. Easy maintenance. Your feedback is appreciated.

    BRS 2 Part Doser (2)

I have two 2 "PART DOSER - 1.1 ML PER MINUTE" from BRS. Used for about 6 months. I bought a new 4x doser and no longer need these. I I will sell the pair for $95.
  9. I have 1 BRS 50ml/min doser and 1 Auto top off float switch kit. Bought them brand new at June 22nd 2017. A month old. I changed to multiple heads doser so I have to sell this. I used this combo for Kalkwasser ATO. This BRS 50ml/min doser is ideal for ATO, especially perfect for Kalkwasser ATO. Pic below: I want to sell it as a kit for $85 including shipping. PM me if interested. Thanks, Louis
