Alright, so everything has been going fine, I didn’t my first filter maintenance yesterday and goofed. I used tap water to rinse my media and foam. (Tidal 75 gal filter) I replaced my carbon with ChemiPure Elite. my water is cloudy. my levels are good and I’m hoping to be nearing the end of the cycle. I have lots of copepods, 2 clowns and 3 chromis 4 peppermint shrimp, and about 5 snails. its a 55 gallon tank. hopefully that’s enough info for you pros to help me find some peace. is this cloudy water gonna go away?
I'm setting up a new tank. 13.5 Fluval Evo. Finished a fishless cycle. Then put in a clown goby with a few crabs for two weeks, while monitoring everything. I decided to add a diamond goby. He's been digging like crazy which is what I was expecting, but the water is so cloudy now! The sand is neither fine, nor course so I don't think it's sand particles and I did give it a good rinsing before setting up my tank. Is this a bacterial bloom? Has he freed up trapped bacteria? The water was crystal clear right before I added him.
Does cloudy water from newly-added live sand (Ocean Direct) harm soft corals and LPS? I've had a 20G with a few soft corals and LPS running for a couple of months now with a bare bottom. If I add sand to it, will the temporary cloudiness harm the corals? Thanks in advance.
