    Raiq's IM 25 lagoon.

Hi guys, Finally made it to the saltwater community after countless hours of research, youtube videos, and reading amazing stories from other journals here. First got the idea of starting a saltwater tank in october when i saw an aio 20g tank with rock, sand, a protein skimmer, and heatet. While i was absorbing new information everyday, i came across this IM marine 25g tank with i knew i had to get it. I uploaded my 20g and the carib sea dry rock i had on different fb pages and had it sold by the next morning before i went to grab this tank. Went to my LFS in Mississauga, aquariumdepot and grabbed the remaining items i needed to get this tank started. Equipment: Tank: IM marine 25g tank Stand: DIY stand from ikea (sektion) Live rock: 25lbs of reef saver rock Sand: Caribsea ocean direct live sand Wavemaker: jebao rw20 Heater: red sea 150w Jebao auto top off Lights: AI prime 16hd Return pump: dont know the name got it with the tank Filtration: 2 custom caddy media baskets which run Mechanical filtration:High performance Fiber Ball for detritus Chemical filtration: Premium Rox 0.8 Carbon Biological filtration: 3 marine pure blocks with 500g of sea chem matrix Pretty nervous today lol, going to scape the tank. Got 3 big pieces of reef saver rock. Using a hammer and chisel to break these bad boys and well see where it takes us. Okay so update after using about 1 tube of 2 part epoxy i pretty much gave up on the scape. No matter what i did the rocks wouldn't stay and kept falling again and again. Thinking of using super glue. After talking with a budy of mine he suggested using a super glue with an instant bond adhesive going to grab that tomorrow. Fianlly got my hands on the super glue due to the covid lockdown going in canada it takes soo long to get stuff from curbside pickup. Ill let you guys know how it goes šŸ˜„. After going through a bottle of super glue finally got a decent scape but ngl not happy with it but lets see. Now the challange is getting this with my tank upto my room and setting it. Annnddd what i feared most actually happened, got to my room without any damage but the upper arch support broke and brought the rest of it down with it šŸ˜‚. Need to get more super glue and fix it tomorrow. Might actually do something different this time.

    Tank Stock for 25 gal

I currently have a 25 gallon tank with atleast 50 pounds of live rock and a bunch of caves and hiding spots, I'm currently holding x1 fire shrimp, x1 royal gramma, x2 clownfish, x1 pink-spotted watchman goby, x1 purple firefish, x5 astrea snails, x5 blue legs. I recently completely a fish in cycle with the two clownfish it's been about 5-6 weeks and then added the shrimp, waited a few days, and added the 3 other fish, I'm closely monitoring my ammonia levels, with that being said, they eat, come out, no issues seem to have been shown, they each seem to have found their own hiding spots while the clownfish basically just roam around all day keeping an eye on all of them, they're all about an inch or so big. My clownfish do the little fighting and twitching here and there but for the most part they're side by side 24/7 eat together, sleep together, fight together so I'm not too worried about them, my main concern is if a 25 gallon is enough to hold my 5 fish and shrimp, they seem to have plenty of space and seem to be having a good time if I do say so myself but I'd prefer knowing they're stress free for the long haul when they reach 3-4 inches in a couple years or so. I keep the tank at about 1.024 salinity & 78-82 degrees.
  3. hello! this is my build thread for my first reef tank, a innovative marine 25 gallon lagoon. i hope to post at least one photo of my tank each week here to keep track of my progress and share it with others. my goal with this tank is to keep things simple, take things slow, and enjoy creating my own slice of the ocean. equipment: - im 25 lagoon - current usa orbit marine ic led - jebao ow-10 wavemaker - eheim jager 75w heater filtration: - 20lbs marco rock - 20lbs caribsea bahamas oolite sand - filter floss stocking: - pair of ocellaris clowns (benny & june)
  4. Background: I'm currently in college and have a super low-maintenance mixed reef set up at home (link), which I've gotten a bit bored with. I decided to set up the empty tank in my room and found the tide pool theme inspiring, challenging and creatively-stimulating. Still low-maintenance given I'm only home once every ~3 weekends during the semester. Status: Live rock is chilling with some water movement and heater. Will be getting more rock and adjusting the aquascape. Substrate ordered. Need to set up lights, timers, and possible tide cycle. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Tank: 24x18x12" (Starphire glass) by Miracles Stand: 25 IM Fusion Lagoon high gloss black stand w/leveling mat Lights: 2x LEDTriC Par38's (9am-6pm), RKL controller Filtration: HoB Aqua Clear filter, 5g tide cycle (6hrs per period) Heater: 200w Jager Substrate: 10lbs Florida Crushed Coral (Caribsea) Livestock (early thoughts): Ultra Rock Flower Anemones, urchin, starfish, crabs, snails, mangrove pods, feather dusters, macroalgae IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Day One (12.21.17)
  5. Hey everyone, so the inevitable happened and we found a 25g tank with stand that was low enough for me to be able to perform tasks without extra stools and ladders (Iā€™m pretty short, and we had the tank on one of our highest countertops.) Our current tank is 13.5 gallons. Iā€™m not sure how fast or slow I should be transfering livestock over once I have the tank in the right spot, cords contained & ensured everything is how I want it before livestock. We will not be adding any additional licestock at this time to try to minimize the risk. Currently livestock: -two clown fish -cleaner shrimp -6 crabs (hermit and regular) -6 snails - 1 ricordea rock - a montipora cap - one acapora - one stag - one torch - one xenia - 6 zoa mini colonies of different colors. Some Fragged I want to use the live rock that is currently in the 13.5 tank plus more as necessary (which will probably go in the refugium). I bought new sand to use as well. Any suggestions on how to best approach this? I am also thinking maybe going sandless but not sure. I like the look of the sand much more then the glass bottom.
