KeriS posted a topic in Equipment ForumI am wanting to set up a 20 gallon nano reef tank, I haven’t started yet as I’m pricing things out. But I’m am wondering how much gph water flow I should get? My filter currently does 92gph, but as I’ve gathered so far that isn’t ebough water flow for a reef tank. Can I please get some suggestions? Also I’m planning on getting a clown fish, and an anenome (most likely bubble) after the tank has matured. As for other fish I haven’t thought or planned any yet but i’s Love to get a tuxedo urchin.
Hey, So now that I have saturated myself with many hours of countless reading, I am ready build and manage a tank. I decided to go with this route because of equipment I already had. 10 gallon all in one setup. A very good starter read is here by steelhealr http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...;hl=submersible the inspiration for this build and help came from lil'wrasse cool http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...126726&st=0 I went into greater detail than most of you will need but these are questions I had when I was starting so... bear with it. Now for the pics, This is for a standard 10 gallon fish tank. The silocone will fill in the gaps so hair pin precision is not needed here. the bulkhead how it looks That is where I am for now. I will post more with fuge and siliconed. bzphotog
Hi, I just joined! I have been thinking about making the jump to salt water for a while and finally pulled the trigger! I have been keeping fish for a while now, I've had great luck with low tech planted tanks. I am trying to use what I already know but I know I will have a ton of questions along the way also. So far I've got a standard 20 gallon tank with an aqua clear 50 and a small koralia pump. I have a Cobalt heater and the Hipargero 30 LED light. Once I have fish I've got a hang on back refugium in my Amazon cart that I will add. Will also probably add another koralia and the wave maker controller hydor makes when I start adding coral. And auto top off will probably be added too at some point. Everything has been up and running for 4 days, I am already seeing some nitrites so that is encouraging, I'll give credit to Dr. Tim's one and only for that! I'm using a red Sea test kit. In my freshwater life I really enjoy nano fish and stocking with fish not everyone else has. I saw some teenie tiny green banded gobies at my lfs and thought they were so cute but the fish store guy said they would just get lost :(. I've got my eye on a yellow clown goby though! What else should I look into stocking wise??? Sorry for the novel, here's a picture!
