So these guys came in on tuesday looking a bit beat up, I know it can talk a while for them to open up but something just doesn't look right to me. I'm a big newbie when it comes to corals so any help is appreciated . This first pic is of the day they arrived while I was dipping them. These other two pics are from today.
I recently received new zoa frags and upon inspection I can see white spots that seem stationary on the polyps (see pic). Are these zoa pox possibly? Is there another name for this? I can't find much information about it online, not in recent years anyway. I also have another zoa frag that has doubled it's number of polyps in a couple of months, but recently the colour on one polyp started receding. Now this morning the colour is pretty much all gone from the polyp. Pic 1: Loss of Colour Pic 2: Zoa White Spots Anyone have any thoughts advice on either of these things? Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 15 Phosphate: 0.36 Salinity: 1.025 Temperature: 80 Alk: 10.4 Calc: 470 Mag: 1360 My parameters are a bit higher than normal due to larger than normal WC yesterday.
I recently was gifted a bunch of corals (break out your tiny violins) and I have limited real estate in my nano as surely we all do. I'm wondering if zoas/palys are okay very close to other corals such as Acan Lords, GSP, Ricordea Florida Mushrooms, Frogspawns/Purple Tip Hammer, Hairy Mushrooms and Candy Cane corals. If the specific brand of zoas/Palys in question is relevant they are: Sunny D, Rastas, Scrambled Eggs, Orange Bam Bams, Psychosis, Captain America etc. They would potentially be right up close to any number of the above mentioned (potentially aggressive) corals. Thanks for any suggestions!
