    AI Prime Schedule/Settings

Hope everyone is doing great. I could not handle the fluval stock light and the way it made my corals look, so about 3 days ago I purchased the AI Prime 16 and it is really a phenomenal product. My question for you all is: How do my settings/schedule look for my tank? I was told at the LFS to not go passed 40% on blues, violet, or UV, keep the Red and Greens less than 6%, and keep the cool white at 1/4 of the blues. With that being said, I took his advice and sort of mixed it in with Eddie Putra's schedule on the AI Prime website. Let me know what you guys think, I have the 13.5 Fluval Evo. I would love to hear some suggestions y'all have and also comment if I am doing anything wrong. I know the color of the tank is really based on our own preferences, but I'd like to see the settings that you guys are running on your nano tank and maybe a picture to go with it so I can see if I would prefer it in my tank. Finally, let me know what you guys think about my schedule setup. I keep 2% blues on throughout the night with 5% moonlight, at 10 AM, the moonlight reaches 0% and I add 1% of red and green and the blues increase to 8%. My ramp up goes from 10 AM to 2PM, where the intensity of the UV goes to 25%, the violet reaches to 30%, the blues reach 35%, the green and red both go to 5% and the cool white reaches 10%. Then the UV ramps up to 35% at 4PM, and the blues reach 40%, everything else stays the same. Then from 4PM on, the everything starts gradually decreasing until the UV's, Violet, Green, Red, and Cool White reach 0% at 10PM (the blues stay go back to 8%). From 10 PM to 11PM, the blues gradually decrease back to 2% and then moonlight starts increasing to 5%. Im going to attach a photo of my schedule so it will be easier for you to examine, sorry if I went overboard with the description of it, but please let me know if I am doing anything wrong and any suggestions that you may have please share. Thanks!

    Kessel A80 Tuna Settings

I have a Waterbox AIO 15 Nano Tank with a Kessel A80 Tuna Blue light and controller. Currently, I followed the BRS lighting schedule that I found in a video, but ideally I would like a bit more blue throughout the day. Any suggestions on how I can adjust this? I currently just have two fish and some Zoas. I assume I would need to adjust the "color" setting up some to get more blue? If this is not ideal for the tank/corals I will just leave it. Just wanted to see what everyone thoughts. Current Schedule: 6:00 - Color 0, Intensity 10 9:00 - Color 30, Intensity 40 11:00 - Color 60, Intensity 70 12:00 - Color 80, Intensity 100 15:00 - Color 40, Intensity 50 18:00 - Color 0, Intensity 0
  3. I bought a 12 gallon jbj nano tank from craigslist. The previous owner had it for about 2yrs and I transported it with all the livestock (2 fish, 2 mushroom corals, 1 xenia). I am really confused on how to change/figure out what my lighting schedule should be. The tank is a JBJ 12 Gallon Nano Cube (https://www.marineandreef.com/JBJ_Nano_Cube_12_Aquarium_JBJ_Nano_Cube_12_G_DX_p/RJB21016.htm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzP-Q-IfE4AIVLR6tBh1cfwNaEAQYAiABEgLngvD_BwE). It’s lighting has: 2 24W bulbs (Half 10K Day- light/ Half 7100K Actinic Blue and a nightlight LED. 1 custom blue actinic LED which they installed into the hood The thing is that when I got the tank, the previous owner told me they used a cycle of blue actinic LEDs on at 6am for 2 hours then the white/actinic bulbs for 2 hours from 8-10 then blue actinic LEDs from 10-12pm. They’ve been doing this for a while seems to be ok on the corals but I’m not sure if 2 hours of the white/actinic bulbs enough. They were morning people but I want to change the schedule since I get home from work late around 5pm or 6pm so I can enjoy the aquarium in the evening. I was wondering what kind of schedule I can change to so I can have some viewing time of my tank I. The evening? The current schedule of 6 hours seems kind of limited. I was wondering if the current schedule has enough lighting for the tank? I’ve been reading lots of forums and have seen varying time schedules from 8hrs to 12hrs, some people turn on their white fluorescent lights for 4-6 hours during “high noon”, and other different combinations. I guess my main summary of questions would be: How should I schedule my lighting (what combination/when I should turn on my lights/how long each) How should I transition my corals to the new schedule? I have 2 mushroom corals and 1 pulsing xenia. The xenia seems to open up around 9 am and starts to shrink and become fat around 6pm (I believe this is the time I guess they consider sundown). I get home late from work so I was hoping to have at least the actinics around that time to enjoy my tank. Any help is appreciated, I’m still kind of new to reef tanks. thanks in advance -J
  4. Hi all, I have some questions about lighting. I started my 32 G Biocube in October and everything has gone decently well so far. I've never had any aquarium before. I feel that I've grasped most concepts regarding reef keeping, however lighting is an area I can't seem to wrap my head around. Recently our brain coral has been pretty closed (ever since my husband decreased the # of hours the lights are on). It got me thinking the light schedule must be wrong. I've read to keep all 3 lights on for about 10 hours/day with a ramp up/down of the LC2 (sunrise/sunset) channel and ending with the LC3 (blue) for a few more hours before total darkness. This is not what I've been doing. I had my 2 white lights on for about 8-10hr/day then blue on for another 5 or so at night. If anyone has personal experience with their 32 gallon Biocube, which has the 3 different light stages (blue/moonlight, bright white, and color enhancing) LEDs, please share your light schedule if you feel you've had success with coral growth and survival. It would be nice to have a few opinions. I've been scanning the web for hours and can't seem to find any useful information. Thanks! Ashley

AI PRIMES LIGHT SCHEDULE ON IM10

Hey everyone! Been 2 weeks since I set up my tank, cycle is finished (nitrates are still around 20~) and everything is coming along nicely. I've added my clean up crew (10-13 small hermit crabs, and 2 nassarius snails) Before I add my first clown and some small zoa frags, I'd really like to know if anyone has some input or feedback for the ai prime light schedules they use. Here is the one I just created (taking into account that I'm working all day so I'd like to view my tank at night time more than during the day...) If anyone can tell me if I'm off to a good start, I'd really appreciate it, obviously I'll need to adjust as I see fit for the coral I decide to add eventually, but I do not want to bleach my corals either from the get go. Max output gets to 20 watts and I have my blues and purple as my drivers, white is on the lower end. (Lights go on at 1:30pm, ramp up until 9pm, and then ramp down and close at 12:30am (midnight, yes I sleep late) Thanks again guys, happy reefing!
