One of my favourite things about Nano-Reef.com is looking back at old photos and write ups of My past and present tanks. So I have to start a journal for this one. I had originally planned to set up a 40 Breeder but I am incredibly impatient and drilled the holes for the overflow in the wrong spot. That’s what I get for rushing. While deciding on what to do a deal came up. A used cadlights 70. Complete with Radions and Mp10’s. I could not pass it up. I picked it up last week. Sold off some equipment I didn’t need and got to work cleaning it up. It was COVERED in coraline algae. It took a lot of vinegar and elbow grease but I got it done. Let’s write out the planned equipment and livestock lists! Equipment Tank: Cadlights 70 Artisan ii Lights: Radion XR15 x2 and Radion XR30 Skimmer: Nyos Quantum 160 Flow: Vectra S2/M2. MP10 x2 Heater: 200w Jager Controller: Neptune Apex Planned Livestock I will be adding only LPS coral to this tank. Starting from scratch. Big Mama the Clarkii Blue Spot Jawfish Various Damsels Various Wrasse Kole Tang Various shrimp Clean up crew I always go with trochus snails, nassarius, emerald crab, and hermits (I love hermits). Hey, thought I'd share my nem guard I made this morning. It's really simple to make. First, pick up some crochet gridding, and cut the length to the circumference of the powerhead. Then cut it to how much you think you would need to protect the pump from wandering nems. Then you sand the ends of the gridding on both sides to make the glue able to stick to the plastic Glue the rough plastic and bend the other side over to glue it down When you align both sides, put it in a vice/clamp Get some flexible rubber tubing and cut it down one half down the middle with a razor blade Last, cut 3 3/4" segments out and put then on the edge of the grid Here's what it looks like when it's on a pump: Hope this helps some people out so you don't have to worry about a runaway nem or changing a sponge.

Downsizing from my 50 gal to my 10 gal, livestock has been taken care of and going to a good home, now I have equipment to get rid of that I will no longer be using. Have 2 quiet drive pumps that are in fantastic condition. Both are less than 3 months old, it just seems that no matter how I position the pumps or the program I run it's just too much flow for my reefer 250 to have 2 of them so I'm looking to downgrade to mp10's or similar.Will update with pics later tonight once I get home. They are currently still running on the tank, so they'll need to be taken down and vinegar bath/cleaned before shipping.Never run more than 30% each.Asking $300 OBO shipped each!
