I have decided to do my first saltwater aquarium. After a lot of reading and shopping, I was going to go with an IM Nuvo Peninsula 14 mostly due to the quality of the IM tanks over the other stuff I was seeing. The tank is going on my desk in my bedroom, so I am limited in size, and this was about as big as I could go. However, on the day I was going to pull the trigger, the brand new glass versions of the IM Nuvo Concept Abyss became available. I chose it because the shape looks more interesting, it has more (a total of 5) chambers in the rear filter section and it still keeps a small enough footprint (15Lx20Wx19H) to fit comfortably on my desk. I am very happy with my choice so far. I will say the white base piece is a little odd. It is different than the version on the acrylic Abyss tanks. It is made of aluminum, which is nice, but there is a chamber under the raised portion of the tank that is hollow with no way to get inside. Seems to me it would have been better used as hidden storage. There is also a pattern cut into the aluminum which looks odd. I am quickly getting used to it though. Here is my equipment list: Tank: IM Nuvo Concept Abyss Panorama Glass 20G Light: AI Prime HD + Mounting Arm Heater: Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm 75W Pumps: Filter Chamber : Syncra Silent 1.0 Circulation : Hydor Koralia Nano 425 Filration: IM Ghost Protein Skimmer IM MiniMax AIO Media Reactor 2x IM Media Baskets I will attach some pictures of the base. I will add pictures once I start cycling the tank. Should be this weekend or early next week
I was thinking of replacing my 29 gal. AGA with a IM Nuvo Fusion 40 gal. I like the simple filtration area in the back and unlike the AIO's I can use my own Kessil 160. I saw they have a media basket for an extra $40. Looks decent, but I wonder how it compares to the IN Tank media basket. Any comments or experience's, I only have BC 8 experience when it comes to the All in one's and I had to make massive changes.
