    “Dirty 30” mushroom tank

So I decided to keep it simple.. on its second week... i cycled “reactor” media with quick start in a bucket prior to adding to the tank... expected a little bit of a phosphate rise and got one.. the first week I ran Chemiclean elite, but decided the GFO was causing more harm than the phosphates would so I pulled it.. Animals were much happier when I pulled it. 1/4 light diffuser panels from Tap Plastics i broke down my ADA 60F and had a 16w x 32l x 12h tank made of 3/8 Starfire glass.. i live in a Valley 10 miles from a Titan V launch pad. I’ve had my Lagoon 25 split a seam.. this tank is built! I also wanted to try and get as close to 100L as possible Filtration: none 3 gal WC weekly (monthly is my goal) equipment: Digital Aquatics Controller Kessil A160 w Controller 2 MP-10QDw pumps on Battery Backup (ecotech) Smart ATO Aqueon pro 200 heater Custom night and UV panels on a Makers Controller/ Manual Dimmer as well. AI Neutronics power bar (rack mount) AC Infinity cabinet fans on controller Live Stock: 13 sexy shrimp in the shroom box 1 6 line that thinks sexy shrimp are tastey 20 bumble bee snails, various algae eaters copepods, amphipods, brittle stars feeding Reef snow, Aminos, phyto, reef roids.. I feed the shroom box and the 6 line gets a whole krill. Dosing: Salifert AIO Red Sea A&B (kh/ calcium) Salt: Fritz Alk 8.5-9.5 Phosphates .1 but dropping Nitrates 20 ph 8- 8.5 Corals JB’s, Kryptonite, Lady Dragon, 2 Neptune Pups, Picasso’s, Michalada, ReefKoi, Juggernaut, Raunchy Red mom and pups, lemon lime bounce, St Thomas, Tropics Bounce, 2 Halloween bounce lines, forest fires, and some unnamed bounces... awaiting 24 colonies from Vietnam.. will start posting those in a few days edit: April 6 got the sheets of glass in.. cool watching the 6line navigate as he hunts.. have a serpent star under the black glass... Switched over to B-Ionic.. tank is much more stable with less dosing. phosphates almost undetectable.

    100% Water Change

Hey there, I need some advice. For the pass month my fluval evo 13.5 has had some problems. I brought it home from college in November. I have no clue what it is. My assumption is that its an algae bloom, but that means it should have gone away by now. I tried dosing MB7 and my LFS told me to take out all the reds, whites, greens and yellows from my light. I have no idea what to do next. I was thinking what if i do a 100% water change and drip acclimate all of my coral and fish back in. I wanted to reach out to everyone on this form to get a second opinion. If there’s any other recommendations I am very glad to listen. I do a water change every week and change out my carbon along with it. Please HELP.
  3. Hi everyone! I’m having an issue with my tank.. the water is pretty cloudy and I’m not sure what the issue could be. I recently bought an aquatop cps-1 power head for my nuvo fusion 10 tank. Right now I only have some live rock and dry rock with 2 clowns, 1 bicolor goby, 8 blue leg hermits, and 5 snails. The power head was so strong it was kicking up with sand and making a sand storm. It’s a 256 gph power head. Im also not happy with the current aquascaping I currently have, what can I do about that? Do I even need the power head? Should I get a smaller one? I was also curious if I should do a complete start over on the tank. I have 10 gallons of water ready for the tank and a bottle of bio-spera as well. Any suggestions on what I do? If I do end up redoing the water, etc. What do I do with my fish? Thanks!
