So, I've got a new Blue-Green Chromis in QT, and he doesn't seem to be enjoying his food - he'll take pellets, pluck them off the surface of the water, and spit them back out so that they sink and pollute the tank 🙄 I've seen him do the same thing with mysis a few times, even after being soaked in garlic. I've got Prazi in the water (I think I saw a fluke on him in the bag, and thought I'd dose since Prazi is so safe), and have tried soaking his food in metro, but stopped once he wasn't taking anything. Doesn't seem to have internal parasites, but I haven't seen him poop yet (probably because I got him straight off the delivery truck, and he wasn't fed at the store) - he is a little thin, but I kinda expect that from most saltwater fish when they first come in. Very active little guy, with lots of personality. Is this a game of just waiting for him to get hungry enough, or should I run out and buy something different that he might like better? I'd prefer not to change foods, but whatever works, I guess. I'm currently feeding Omega One Micro Pellets daily, with mysis and red seaweed on every second day.
Hello, I’m cycling my tank and the ammonia’s ranging between 2-4 ppm. I bought a damsel fish and a chromis from my local fish store because the worker said they were hardy and would be fine through the cycle. I purchased a bottle of “complete bioculture - for establishing biological filtration and rapidly improving water quality in all marine and freshwater aquaria”. I also purchased a small container of fish pellets. Picture of both included. I just want to make sure I’m doing everything right. Please help! (I also have a trochus snail, 2 stomatella snails, and a baby peppermint shrimp.)
Hello, I wake up this morning with one of my chromis not swimming well : The tank is new of almost 1 month. Any idea what i could be and what i could do to save him ? Water parameter : Salinity : 1.025 Temperature : 25 Celcius Ammoniac : 0.25 (i put frozen food 20min before so maybe a false reading) Nitrate : Near 0 Phosphat : Near 0
Hello, I noticed today that one of my chromis is missing. I checked all the caves and even took the rocks out and I could not find him. I looked at the floor, back of the cabinet and the back of the JBJ nano. its not there. I'm afraid that it dies and was consumed by my cleaners. My question is do you think 6 hermit crabs, 1 damsel, 2 clowns, 1 fire shrimp and 3 turbo snails can devour a small fish within 24 hrs?
