    Unstable chemistry

So my 20 gallon cube has been unstable since i got it. I get my water from a shop because my dad thinks its a waste of space and time to have a full salt mixing unit. My alk is always unread on my sailfert dosing kit. (is there a hanna for this?) I want to do an acropora tank but my parameters are constantly unstable. My chiller wasn't pumping for five days? so my tank was about 31C for very long. When i fixed it, my stylo started bleaching, my recovering montipora started detiorating again. How do i get my tank on its feet? My dad also doesnt allow me to change my filter sock twice a week, so when i change it, the tank parameters go all crazy. Can i get some help?

Ideas on how to fail safe a doser?

Hey NR community, need your help! I am considering using a stand alone doser to dose Red Sea foundation ( alkalinity and maybe calcium periodically) and would like to first figure out a good way to fail safe it so that I minimize my risk for overdosing/catastrophe. I DO NOT have an apex nor do I really want one for my nano, so I don’t think it’s possible to use the pH method to turn the doser off if the pH rises above the set parameter. I’ve heard of some people using outlet relays... but I’m not sure that will work. Does anyone have ideas on how I might be able to fail safe a stand alone doser without an apex? Thanks so much!
