  1. Hey everyone! Just an update/help needed post! Will be posting pictures later but do to work/other circumstances I haven't been able to give my tank the love it needs, tldr I have a glass anemone infestation going on :/ I bought 10 scarlet reef hermit crabs to see if they do anything, can anyone recommend anything else to help combat this? Peppermint shrimp are a no go atm unless I get rid of my peppermint fish, as he ate the last 2 I added and my two fire shrimp.... -.-
  2. Hello everyone! Just an update on my tank. Life has been very busy lately but wanted to share what's going on. With the tank since my last update. All 3 chromis died for some reason. The dotty back is still in the tank being himself(pretty sure he killed the wrasse last week). The tank now homes a yellow eyed tang, gold blenny and a very recent candy candy hogfish. On the coral front weve added a montipora undata frag, and one unknown monti frag I got from my lfs. As well as two ora hammer frags. Also added a derrasa clam about a month ago who is doing very well. As far as tank health it's doing well. Just finished combating red cyno algea with amazing success thanks to chemi clean, though it did take about a week compared to the 48 hours it claims. Below are pictures :). Also going to be starting the Triton method this week. Have the core 7 and sending in my water sample. As of right now the only dosing Is amino acids.
  3. Hey guys! So I noticed today that my orchid dotty back is missing ALOT of scales. I noticed it the other day but just thought he maybe scrapped himself on something. Hes hard to get a picture of but here's the pictures I have. Also worth noting no one else in the tank is having any issues that I can physically see.
  4. Remove the two kpms as it was way to much flow sadly so back to the single kps till I buy another. Also bought a trio of blue Caribbean crhomis. 5 asstrea snails. 5 zebra hermit crabs and 12 TINY blue legged dwarf hermits. Also got a blue wrasse who I'm surprised lived through the night. These were taken Tuesday last week. Also got a pink torch coral. I'll attach pictures including the wrasse the day I got him.
  5. It's a 57 gallon tank. It's the deep blue edge (36x18x20)
  6. You know the original thread was from 2009 right? 😛
  7. Update again! Added two kpm wavemakers and boy are they strong (I'm worried to strong as my frogspawn is mad that they came on at 100%) I have them both running at 15% max. Are they set up correctly and any pointers you guys can give? Here's my frogspawn now vs the other day.
  8. Still attempting to catch mine, though the clown pair has decided they like his rock so now hes hiding on the other side of the tank 😂
  9. Trying that method now, bad news is he killed the last firefish, good news is now theres no more firefish to kill? 😭 Lesson learned on this one for sure, when live aquaria said it would "defend its lair" I thought maybe chase away, not kill outright.
  10. Any advice on how to catch this guy? I couldn't get him last night and came home a moment ago to another dead firefish missing a tail -.-
  11. I went and bought a 44 gallon brute I just keep full of filtered water then mix the salt in 5 gallon buckets (I'm wanting to fix that and mix about 20ish gallons though as my system volume is around 60ish) only downside is the brute is downstairs and the tank is upstairs 😭
  12. Not exactly sure what all is in my water but out of tap its around 180 TDS 😄
  13. I might catch some flak for this but I use the Aquatic Life RO Buddie with the DI unit on it making it a four stage. For my city water I get 0 TDS so ?‍♂️
  14. It was defiantly the dotty back, caught him chasing one of the surviving firefish, the one who lost his tail died 😕
