  1. Yeah , first pic sucked on my phone and the second came through after I posted 🙈
  2. Ok that's a much better pic , is acropora but can't say what kind
  3. not a very clear pics , cant see much when i zoom , but you said it has green at the base , from what you say and what it looks like it could be , id say GSP coral that has been grown over something which has been attached to the plug , probably reef putty .
  4. Hello and welcome . Yes a canister is a great piece of equipment but needs regular cleaning and filter media replacement , like filterwool, coal or poly filter . If regular maintenance is not maintained you will end up with a nitrate spike in your tank . But just keep your hand on it and it will do wonders . So what is your vision , do you have substrate and rocks already ?
  5. What about a laser used for aptisia ? Zap the area ?
  6. I will remove it once I have a proper setup running , when I transport the rock I'll attempt scraping it off, just going too let it grow for now ... i have a nice looking skeleton attached to a cork and going to place a it on there for it to grow over.
  7. fingers crossed , if it starts going crazy at least I can trade a few frags
  8. I Just hope it ends up being something nice , even a star polyp would be nice , I had one about 16yrs ago with my second marine setup , it did start spreading.... alot .... But I always liked seeing it sway in the current and on the back wall , maybe now with a more experienced hand , I can keep it under control a little more , that's if it is a star polyp.
  9. Deffs not spongy ... It's smooth like a leather and even looks like the base of a leather ... almost a shiny look and those little hands you see in the pic , I used a soft paint brush and when i stroked them , it retracted them . 🤔
  10. Only thing I can tink of that remotely had that texture and attached flat to the rock like that is a saucer coral ?
  11. placed all my live rock in my quaranteen to empty it and saw growth on one rock and I'm not sure what it is , I never had this is my tank and the live rock is not exactly new .
