  1. I recently bought a beautiful specimen (bright pink and sky blue patches). Most Yumas are nothing in comparison. However, it has been slowly bleaching and I can't figure out why. Every other coral thrives in my tank, and my Sebea Anenome's great health can attest to the perfect levels in my tank. 8.2 PH .00 amm/nitrate/nitrite 400ppm cal 80 watt US Current light It is mid tank where it receieved a relatively strong flow and good light. Any help or suggestions would be great! PS this is my first go around with Ricordia, but I am familiar with the husbandry of mushrooms.
  2. xenia care

IF you get past the acclimation...they grow like weeds
  3. chances of a false percula hosting a carpet

My false hosted to my sebea...tank raised also
  4. When aiptasia gets out of hand...

peppermint shrimp worked like magic for me...1 in my 12 gallon cleaned it out in 3 weeks. I have about 20 anenomes
  5. Deep Sand Bed vs. Bare Bottom

I dont have any real scientific reason for my sand bed. A year ago when I got into the hobby this is one topic I read about. The information I found was exactly what we see here. Its like 50/50 for and agaisnt. So I went with a 1 inch deep bed for the following reasons: I think bare-bottom is ugly, DSB may be a risk and 1 inch of sand is easier to clean then DSB.
  6. clown macro shot

Thats a bad ass photo Tigah...Let me know when you pink Yuma is ready to frag...money isnt an issue!
  7. Anemone Question

Dude you have the lighting. I purchased a Sebea, and has done great in my tank. Its grown to almost twice its original size, and regained all of its color. Just add the anenome before you fill yur tank with corals, let if settle then go from there.
  8. ahh dude you need to test your tank...figure out where you need to adjust things and go from there. "Purple Up" sounds like a calcium additive, have you check your calcium level? Does "Purple Up" affect your PH or alkinlity? I wouldnt add anything unless you know exactly what it does, and are currently testing for it.
  9. what u guys think?

My sebea hasnt moved far at all and has been in my tank for about 7-9 months. He has also done fine living with the other corals. If your dead set on manderin's look for tank raised ones (they will eat prepared foods). I would however, stick to one anenome. They are alot of pressure on the bio-load and can potentially get huge.
  10. Breeding Clowns (help needed)

my LFs sells clowns for 12.99 for a false, I have no prob paying that price for a salt water fish
  11. How do clownfish sleep?

I dont think they sleep liek you and I. I have 2 clowns and a Sebea Anenome. At night they never leave it, howver they still swim in it a little. I think its more a restful state then an actual "sleep"
  12. Please help, my tank is dying

Im sorry, i will be more specific. This bacteria does not just grow out of nothing. Some thing is feeding it; be it infrequent water changes, poor quality top-off water, excess feeding, over-stocked tank, a recent death. The only way to really get rid of it is to locate the source of the nutrients, and stop it there. Medications will help keep the growth down, and may even cause to to die-off but I can assure you as long as the source remains its going to come back. Most likely it will grow faster and you will see more of it also, becuase most cyano medications stun the bio filter.
  13. Please help, my tank is dying

The reason ur levels are 0 is because the cyano is feeding off of the excess nutrients and nitrates before they can develope into testable levels
  14. Debelius' Reef Lobster

Just bought one, the LFS has been a good friend of mine for many years and he said it would go nicely in my tank. It is a beautiful specimen, only problem is he hides all day long. He is bright purple and orange, real cool looking.
