  8. Can't get chaeto to grow for the life of me!

    I say try some other macros. For me chaeto is a pain because it seems to be fairly high maintenance and it gets everywhere. I removed it from my system a year ago and still find bits of it growing here and there. Some macros do well for me while others melt away. I say try a variety and go with what works well. Xenia is a good option too as it consumes a fair amount of nutrients and grows rapidly.

    I too think it might just be a particular strand that you've got that is not compatible for your system. I would also not expect to see any results from dosing for a week or better. Good idea to test your iron levels to be sure it's limited. I've had issues when running carbon as well- macro growth slows and some of my coral looks worse. How big is your fuge? Is it a sump setup or hang-on?
