  1. Totally agree MetaTank! There are so many people with more cash than they know what to do with. $10k is not a lot to them.
  2. Parts man, PARTS!!! Got most of the equipment and Home Depot finally got my PVC in, Will be doing some cutting and gluing this weekend.
  3. Ummm, I'm regretting that recommendation....
  4. Hmmm, I am against this although I understand your reasoning. Maybe just put a mustache on your Profile pic....
  5. The wide flow makes them great for shallow reefs.
  6. The 1k should have more than enough power to drive that tank. At full power its pushing 1000gph. I've got one on a 45g and it works well.
  7. If it crumbles when pressed it probably won't hold up to stacking so you might want to go with something else. If you're looking for additional filtration, porous rock, well, rocks! 😁
  8. Since your tank is only 13g I would suggest against getting a goby/pistol shrimp pair unless you get rid of your other fish. The small footprint provides little space for other fish to swim/hide/feed and the pistol snaps at anything that gets within range. I've a had a few pair in various size tanks and found if you want other fish tank size matters. Also, one of my pistols (unknown genus) grew to a decent size and started eating my other crabs.
  9. That looks like a coral polyp which is very common on Live Rock. You shouldn't need to anything to it unless you don't like corals.
  10. It was really bad last night...
  11. You got lucky! I wouldn't be too worried at this point but it's good to see that you're intelligent and are seeking advise and learning more about the hobby. Welcome!
  12. Also, I know it's hard, but rehoming, even to the best of places, doesn't mean all will be well. We all have stories of our best attempts at transporting/homing these awesome creatures and life happens.
