  1. How many are skimming theyre BioCubes?

I have a 29g Biocube and the Oceanic Skimmer that came with the tank is junk and like some others on here I don't think the smaller skimmers work very well. I just make sure to do a 10% water change and change my filter inserts and I don't have any issues. IMO you get more out of water changes than a skimmer on the smaller tanks.
  2. kessil on a 50 cube

I have a 29g Biocube HQI and had issues with my light and replaced it with a Kessil 150w Ocean Blue light and am really happy with it. My clam and my other corals are doing great!
  3. MH vs LED vs T5s

I've used all 3 and like the LEDs best. I liked the looks of MH better but my corals are actually doing better with my Kessil 150 in Ocean Blue.
  4. Favorite Public Aquarium?

Loved the Georgia aquarium. My wife, son, and I spent 2 hours just looking at the huge display with the Whale Sharks!
  5. How Often to DO W/C on Biocube 29?

I have a 29g Biocube and I do a 3 gallon change each Saturday or Sunday. I get RO/DI water and set up in a bucket on Friday night with a heater and powerhead to make sure the salt level/temp is the same. I don't have any problems and the water is pristine.
  6. PistolShrimp

I got a Tiger Pistol and a Yellow Watchman about a week ago and thought the shrimp died because I didn't see it. I saw it for the first time a couple of days ago. I was also worried the goby and shrimp wouldn't find each other again after they went to separate areas of the tank when I put them in but my LFS said they would find each other and will be fine. I know what you mean about the piles of stuff. The shrimp is making it's pile and the goby is keeping watch. I also know what you mean about the popping sound. Damn thing scared me to death. Sounded like a fire cracker!!
  7. New LED Lights....

    Really like your set up.
  8. Favia coral frag hole

I like the mail order prices but like to see what I'm buying better. Had a similar experience a couple of years ago.
  9. I had the JBJ with LED hood and it was ok but now I have the Oceanic Biocube 29g HQI and have been very pleased with it. I like sump set up with the area for the built in light as well as the vents to allow the heat to escape. I've never was able to raise a maxima clam with my JBJ with several attempts but have 1 thriving in my Oceanic Biocube HQI.
  10. This is all over my tank

    Ditto - they are beautiful!
  11. Zoas in moonlight

    Very Nice!
  12. Blue color of white sand

My Diamond Goby had a death wish. I have a 29g Biocube HQI and it found the smallest hole on the side of the lid and fried himself under the light. RIP you did a good job for the 2 days I owned you.
  13. why do you like nano systems vs. large systems

I've just downgraded from a 75 to a 29g Biocube HQI. The cost and upkeep just got to be too much for the 75g. I was able to get a much better looking tank in the 29 at a much better cost. Now the fun begins tearing down the 75 and cleaining it up for re-sale.
  14. Where did your liverock come from?

Pukani is fiji - So much cheaper seeding my own rather than buying. With my work schedule I wouldn't be home to get the delivery and the LFS in my area want $9.99lb. for cured live rock.
  15. Where did your liverock come from?

I purchased 100lbs of dry Pukani rock from Bulk Reef Supply. I purchased 10lbs of some great live rock from my LFS that was totally covered in pink, green, and purple coralline algae and now I have some great growth on the dry rock.
