  1. Best Lighting For a Macro Tank

I have a dirt cheap setup that works too well. http://www.lowes.com/pd_302257-3-26966___?productId=3202347&pl=1&Ntt=6500k ^ I use these Sylvania 6500K CFL bulbs. http://www.lowes.com/pd_203213-1373-FL-300NPDQ12___?productId=3122291&pl=1&Ntt=bayco ^ I use a clip on lamp like this one. My cheato grows like crazy. I mean like CRAZY! I have to toss some out on occasion. ('o' )!!
  2. There's "fog" in my refugium! ('o' )

http://live-plants.com/refugiumpack.htm ^ I ordered that for the fuge. Plants & live sand. There are worms & junk living in the sand. My guess that it's all supposed to be good stuff? I'll keep pumping water in there occasionally throughout the month & do a few more water changes to take care of whatever sulfur is left. All my corals are doing fine for now.
  3. There's "fog" in my refugium! ('o' )

Well, I pumped water through the fuge. It did smell like sulphur. I had the skimmer going & washed off the filter floss. The tank has a powerhead, so I wasn't too worried. Everything looks fine & the smell went away. I'm going to replace some of the water this weekend.
  4. There's "fog" in my refugium! ('o' )

I'll get a tube & pump some water through there today. I'll turn on the skimmer too. I'm just hoping it's not toxic.
  5. It's the wierdest thing ever. There is fog in my refugium. It's all crystal clear above the "fog", but it's quite murkey below the "fog" line. I don't think I've ever seen this before. Must be a marine layer coming in.
  6. I'm looking for some new macro algae for my refugium. Need some cheato, non-banned caulerpa, & other random macroalgea. Anyone got any suggestions? I prefer the LA area in general, but I'm willing to travel to the O.C. if I have to. Thanks! ( ^o^)/
  7. T5HO Information

I'm about to order this setup. http://fishneedit.com/new-light.html I'm going to get the bulbs they include for now. What bulbs & temperatures should I get to make my tank lighting look similar to these below? Either setup is fine, as long as I can get close to either one with the bulbs available.
  8. T5HO Information

http://www.fishneedit.com/t5ho-ligh.html http://www.fishneedit.com/new-light.html ^ Them? Seems to be a good deal. It looks like they don't have them right now, though.
  9. T5HO Information

Wow! This thread contains lots of useful info! I'm about to replace my 20" Coralife 96watt PC unit for a 24" T5HO 4 bulb unit for my 20 gallon AGA mostly loaded with mushrooms. My Coralife PC unit is getting close to the end of it's life span. I have been looking around left & right all over the internet at T5 units. I have seen 24" 4 bulb T5HO units as low as $45 & as high as $500. It seems like it all boils down to how the unit reflects the light. Any good deals out there on a 24" 4 bulb T5 unit? Hellolights used to have a pretty good deal on their own units, but they don't seem to make them anymore. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks! ( ^o^)/
  10. The Anime Gee's 20 gallon nano-reef. (^o^ ) <3

I want to get rid of the frags on the left so that I can have some more space to grow mushrooms. Everyone that comes to my house & take a look is blown away at how large some of those shrooms expand. I love mushrooms! I'm trying to decide if I want to use my current 55 gallon as a mushroom tank or sell it & get another 55 that's drilled & with an overflow. I'm going to breed mushroom like crazy! (^_^ )
  11. The Anime Gee's 20 gallon nano-reef. (^o^ ) <3

Do'h! All my recent pictures have been lost! Here they go again. (^o^ ) <3 ^ Took these a few minutes ago. For those that are probably wondering what camera I shot these with, I use a Sony Alpha-200 DSLR with the stock 18mm-75mm lens.. I shoot in manual mode with 100 ISO. (^_^ )
  12. How Do You Get Rid Of Mushrooms?

<-- Send them to me! (^o^ ) <3 But yeah. They do multiply rather quickly in the right conditions. Like already said, take the rock out & chisel them out. It's kinda hard trying to pull them off by hand. They're too slippery.
  13. The 55 gallon club.

Thanks for posting that up. I can pretty much do my 55 gallon then. http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6771/dsc04190.jpg http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/4725/dsc04185w.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1484/dsc04191.jpg ^ I've had great success with my 20 gallon, so a 55 should be a lot easier! (^_^ )
  14. Yes. I do use the skimmer part. I actually "jimmy rigged" my AquaClear 30 pump to push into the fuge for now. I already ordered a couple of Odyssea pumps. They should be coming in by tomorrow or Wednesday. I actually had no problems with my old one. It worked perfectly fine for the 2 years that I had it & it was decently quiet. The area where the cheato is at doesn't have much flow. Most of the flow goes over it. Then the water falls over into a bunch of filter floss & then out to the tank.
  15. http://www.aquatraders.com/odyssea-ex-250-...sponge-kit.aspx ^ I have one of those pumps for my hang on fuge & it took a crap today. It's been on since 2 years ago. I can order it from that site, but I would much prefer to get one locally as soon as possible. I have been to a couple of shops & no one seems to have any. I would prefer that one since it has a 15mm diameter outlet that I connect to the fuge's plumbing, but any pump that is about 250 GPH would be preferred & preferably one with a 15mm diameter circular outlet. Anyone have any suggestion or can point me to a shop that might carry this pump? I live in Los Angeles, but I can go to Anaheim, Torrance, Ontario, etc. I don't care. I just need to find a pump quickly. I have lots of macro algae & stuff in the fuge & there is a small amount of water in there. Thanks! ( ^o^)/
