Thanks! And I'm glad you see the palm trees. That's what I was hoping for with the cloves. Yeah, I'm also planning a 20g, and I'm thinking about adding 2x KPSs. I really like these pumps. I mean, I really like the Nero as well. They are also dead silent. But seems like a better option to buy 2x KPSs for same price as 1 Nero (and they are much smaller than the Nero). 🤷‍♂️ Thanks! I squished a few of the larger pieces of the dragon's breath to the left behind the hut in hopes of growing that out. But I may just add a replacement one.
  3. Still don't buy it. And you are the one acting like a snowflake. I've had a pair of clowns for a few years in my Fluval V, now in my EVO 13.5. I wouldn't introduce another fish in this tank, its just not big enough. There wouldn't be enough space to allow the two separate species their own territory. I think I remember something like 30g to the clowns to have better success in mixing.

Glad you like the KPS. I picked one up for the 20g I'm planning, nice to see some feedback. It was either the Nero 5 or the KPS. Figured I'd do one KPS first and if need be add a second. Here's hoping those dragon's breath frags grow out quickly! Rest of the tank is looking awesome.

How to stop clownfish from attacking other fish?

Idk, smells as fishy as the Oval Office. Can’t say I buy the “joke”. Also, there’s nothing wrong with being sensitive and it shouldn’t be used a down trot trait - if anything, it should be respected.

lol, when the volcano spits up its last plume! The cloves look like palm trees in the background....love it! Pico is looking amazing!

The tank is a sparsely populated mixed reef. I moved it to our new house a few months ago and had my livestock in stock tanks and one crashed on me. I replaced the fish and added a few other things back. I have Starry Blenny File Fish Foxface Tomini tang Sailfin tang Blue tang 2 green chromis 2 clowns Coral banded shrimp fire shrimp Emerald crab Rock flower anemone Bulb anemone 3 kinds of gorgonians 2 conchs snails and hermits Berghia nudibranchs mushrooms Zoas leathers Grape Hammer Duncan Blue RIdge Lots of macro algae and stuff I am forgetting. Sump is a 20L I glued some glass into for a bubble trap with a Reef Octopus 152s skimmer in it This tank Seen here before a long while ago. Had it in a shed for years. I use 2 gyres and a PP-8 for flow.
  9. Tested nitrites, hard to tell in the lamplight but it looks like between 0 and 0.25, but not 0 yet. Dumped more Microbacter in lol.

Kk ok ok. Since we are all soooo sensitive. To think i must be seriously getting on a reef hobby forum and say i flushed a fish. YESSS. People....i did take the fish back to my pet store and got half store credit. Jesus...thank god i didnt say i cooked him up in a fish fry...lol yall would have needed counseling. Chill out yall. Damn. I chose a tailspot blenny instead and couldnt be any happier. Or if i were the clownfish i would be cause id probably still be sitting in the pet store. Phew...its summertime soon. Maybe all the snowflakes will dry up.

Here's an FTS with the new Aqamai KPS added behind the volcano. It's so tiny, you can't even see it. And yes, sad FTS without my dragon's breath plume. I guess at least I can enjoy the volcano bubbler again. And when I turned on the bubbler, a bunch of dragon's breath pieces flew out. Lol.

I am sorry about your fish and understand you being sad.😥 I love looking at this thread your tank is so diverse and colorful. The pictures of it is what made me decide to start a tiny tank and enter the current contest. I love my little tank better than the 75 and hope it grows up to be as beautiful as your tank.

People are too sensitive. It was a joke. I did take the fish back to pet paradise in vb. They gave me enough store credit to get something else that isnt so mean. Chose a tailspot blenny

It was a pretty easy fix (just had to turn off my data before syncing). Love this pump now. Thanks. I wish I took a vid, but I was in total shock. It was a wild sight tho.

Tybee janky tank new picks 5-24

We have been hitting 98 for several days in a row here, so between the high temp and the air running a good bit I loose at least a half cup of water a day. I would love to get an ATO but don't need to spend the money on the super tiny one right now.

Same here, super easy tank... I top off like every other day, dose amino acids daily, and waterchanges every week. Pretty low maint.

Thanks! It has been really easy to take care of. I top off twice a day feed something to the tank daily and change about 2/3 gallon of water every week.

I bet the tank really looked like the volcano erupted. Sorry for the macro but hopefully it will regrow. Your tank will be picture perfect again in no time.

    MetaJANKs Old School Polished Turd

Hey Meta, your tank is really looking good. I like all of the new coral additions.
  23. As for the coral, well... it seems fine. It's not all that exciting. Instead of the saying, "it's like watching paint dry", people should say "it's like watching SPS grow". I don't have much of a cast of characters, so there's not much really happening. I've thought about an interesting invert, or even a fish. I might possibly add a small shrimp, which would force me to feed more. But 100% water changes would be out. So anyway, this LED project is giving me something to think about. However, month end is approaching and a new FTS will be due. I'll try to get a few closeups too. Going to try dosing too. Also, I haven't been feeding a whole lot. Just a little more than enough to keep my hermit crab, Eugene alive. I've dosed some phyto, although most people will concur that SPS doesn't directly feed on phyto. I'm even kind of thinking about dosing yeast.

Probably not the same coral but the colors on the fire and ice zoa from WWC are close and reasonably priced.

    • Preventing Freezer Burned Reef Foods
I feed a few different frozen foods and it takes a while to go through them, even with my heavy feedings. I keep everything sealed up and try to get all of the air out of the bags for the flat packed stuff, but I am still seeing quite a bit of freezer burn, even with the blister pack cubed foods. I think a lot of it has to do with the defrost cycle and the constant thaw/freeze cycles. The food seemed to last longer when I had a bunch of bottles of water in the freezer to minimize cycling.

What does everybody do to minimize freezer burn with their frozen foods?
