What is this?

I had a turbo snail that died recently and then this thing appeared in the tank. It looks what I think a snail would look like without its shell... and it is carrying this shiny thing on its back... is that a new shell? Has anyone ever had a snail ditch their shell before??

i had one hitch in on a new coral.. i see him every now and then.. he just like any other snail..

If you have one, you probably have or will have tons of them. That is my experiance anyway. Mine are different colors ranging from pink (when they are small)to brown/tan/gray (like the one shown) and black. I like the black ones.
