i have a lid right now and am concentrating on not making sudden movements near the glass (the dogs on the other hand...) I am switching back to opentop with MH pendant soon and am thinking about custom fitting a piece of window screen to the top of the tank. I have seen one in an open top tank (LFS) before for a few months and he never jumped. I think the initial break in period may be the most jump prone time. At the aquarium where i volunteer they are always in closed tops...

JUST GIVE IT A FEW DAYS. THE SHYNESS WILL GO AWAY. I HAVE ONE AND I THOUGHT IT DIED CAUSE IT DIDN'T COME OUT FOR THREE DAYS. EVERYTIME I GOT NEXT TOT HE GLASS IT WOULD HIDE. NOW IT SEES ME AND DOESN'T HIDE.
