my new yellow finger hasn't really opened. I've seen polyps twice and it was only five to ten on a 2+ inch frag. Any tips?

Is it in high flow and low light with no algae growing on it?

yup. It's directly across from my powerhead (have the flow running lengthwise across my tank), sitting on my substrate, and it's a new frag so no algae. It finally opened last night after my post, go figure, but before that, it was hardly opening even at night.

What's the trick to getting NPS to opening during the day?

If you’re still having trouble maybe find it a spot in lower light if possible. I didn’t catch that it was new. It took mine about 10-12 days after getting it to have it open up like that and now it does everyday and has grown nicely. I feed it 4oz of pods and 4oz of phyto weekly in a 25g lagoon (holds 15g water).

Just rearranged the tank and it stopped opening up. It's still on the sand bed so the light is the same but maybe it isn't getting the same flow?

I'm confused, some sources say these are also NPS so lighting doesn't matter.

It looks like every time I'm worried about my corals, as long as I post on this thread they magically open up literally minutes after. Hmmmmm...
